The final day served up some incredible action and drama right to the very end.

Carter Tikka Takka Ball vs Mughi Ball Z

Both teams battled hard until the final whistle in a tight contest. With neither side able to find the decisive goal, the game went to penalties. Unfortunately for Mughi Ball Z, a couple of costly misses from the spot meant Carter Tikka Takka secured 3rd place.

Kulkarnis Kucks vs Kamshots FC

The final was a fiercely contested affair. Kulkarnis Kucks struck first with an early penalty, taking the lead and maintaining pressure throughout the match.

Kamshots responded quickly with an equaliser, capitalising on a goalkeeping error to bring the game level. Both teams pushed hard for a late winner, creating several chances, but neither side could find the breakthrough.

Once again, it all came down to penalties.

This time, Kamshots FC kept their composure from the spot, while their goalkeeper PK delivered a heroic performance, standing tall against a barrage of shots to secure the victory.

What an incredible night of football, drama, and great energy all around. Cheers to everyone who played, supported, and made this such a success.

🏏Competitive Cricket 🏏- Our club is thriving with three outdoor teams and two indoor squads battling it out across Surrey Slam, BUCS, LUSL, and more. The 1s finished strong, securing 2nd place in Division 1 of BUCS, while the 2s are on the rise, earning promotion to the 3rd Division. Our 3rd team allows for a more social approach to the game for people picking up the bat or the ball for the first time. Plus, our medical team gears up every year for the UH T20 and One Day Competitions. The annual clashes between GKT and KCL (our intra-uni rivals) have resulted in a GKT triumph for the last 8 years.

🎉Sensational Socials 🎉 - A relaxed and friendly atmosphere allows new and old members of the club to gel seamlessly together like one big family. With a range of drinking and non-drinking socials, from weekly nights out at Guy’s Bar and Christmas Dinner at Nawaz, from Charity 5-a-side to the international tour, GKT provides a multitude of avenues for members to make friends and memories that will last a lifetime.

We are proud and delighted to have been announced the GKT MSA Sportsclub of the Year 2024 🏏🏏

The past year has been a transitional one for the club, with a young committee taking on the challenge of running the club over the year. The club has continued to grow on and off the pitch, with notable highlights including winning the Surrey Indoor Slam for the first time in the club’s history, extending our 7 year unbeaten streak in Macadam as well as strong performances in both the BUCS and LUSL divisions - as well has having the highest number of members in the club’s history (while still maintaining the close-knit, community feel our members appreciate)

We hope to build on all the achievements from this past year to ensure that the club continues
to be the finest cricket club in the world 🔥

🏏2’S START THE SEASON WITH A WIN 🏏
GKT won the toss and felt like a bat. The game started as any other, with Saihaj’s blistering run rate as he slowly descended to full blown 2’s player. He top scored in the 40’s with Stampy coming in with an additional 30 in what was a brilliant opening partnership. After what was a stellar start, it all went downhill, where a solid showing from Mr Afzal and a shock tail end display of power sh****ng from Ollie Martin left us with 168.

Bowling started off well as our openers kept their run rate to a trawl, but it was the switch to spin that made the difference with Seth Champion putting in a man of the match worthy 8 overs, taking 3 of their batsmen for his trouble. We went from strength to strength with another impressive display of spin from Shivansh. The total turned out to be too many for Kent as they ended up crumbling under the pressure, resulting in the 2’s first of many wins to come this season.

🎉 LUSL PREMIER MATCH REPORT 🎉

The first game of the LUSL season, after the first few fixtures were postponed due to rain, finally occurred against Barts and the London CC at Chislehurst.

Batting first, the 1st XI got off to a flying start with Krish getting to his 50 in no time, supported at the other end by Pets, with the opening pair scoring at almost 12 an over in the powerplay, with a key cameo from Day right after. After rogue chat and a rather unnecessary sendoff, Jaya and Arnav refused to take their foot off the gas (other than “running” on the final ball), scoring 41* and 40* in a fourth wicket partnership full of unorthodox brilliance, setting a target of 195.

A wicket for Ollie in the first over and tight lines from Day set the tone for the second innings, and despite some quick-scoring the powerplay, Seth’s stunning spells at an economy of only 3.25 in the middle overs of a T20 brought the game well within our hands, closing Barts out 54 runs short of the target.
