🐟 Fin Facts – Dover Sole 🐟

Dover sole are one of the most curious and sought-after flatfish around the UK coastline 🇬🇧. Often found over muddy or sandy seabeds 🌊, they’re a firm favourite for both shore and boat anglers during the summer and autumn months ☀️

When it comes to bait, simplicity is key. 🪱 Lugworm and ragworm both work well and should be fished on short, light snoods carrying small hooks. That said, anglers targeting big sole from regions like the Bristol Channel will regularly fish with 1/0 or even 2/0 Aberdeen hooks.

They pull back well for their size and catching a perfect sole is always satisfying 💪 And when conditions are right, you could easily find more than one feeding in the same area!
