Just like that we’re already 7 weeks into the season 🤯

7 weeks of entertainment, amazing performances, mesmerising wins, only a few defeats but most importantly, the vibe around the village has been ever present💚💛

Carry this form on until end of the season and we’ll make 6/6 promotions look like a walk in the park 🚶 🛝

Good luck to everyone playing this week and let’s bring full points back to the village this weekend 🏏❤️

Another massive weekend for the Village with big performances across the sides. Check out who made the cut for this week’s Team of the Week, driven by some serious shifts with both bat and ball. 📈
Special shoutouts this week to:
⭐ Bakhtiar Sahil (2nd XI) ripping through with a clinical 5 for 11!
🎩 Speenghar Ahmadzai (3rd XI) turning the game upside down with a magnificent 5 for 13, including a HAT-TRICK!
Up the Village! 🏏

A mixed set of results across the club on Saturday.

Well done to the 2nd XI, 3rd XI and 4th XI, who all recorded convincing victories. The 2nd XI secured a 72-run win over Potters Bar CC, the 3rd XI put in a dominant performance to win by 147 runs, and the 4th XI continued their strong season with an 85-run victory.

It wasn’t the result the 1st XI and 5th XI were looking for, but both sides will be looking to put things right next weekend.

Three wins from five and plenty to build on as we head into another busy week of cricket.

After a frustrating weekend with the weather, we’re back in action this Saturday with all five sides looking to build momentum as the season continues.

With the season beginning to take shape, every game presents another opportunity to build momentum, pick up valuable points, and continue the strong start made across the club. From the 1st XI through to the 5th XI, there are exciting challenges ahead and plenty to play for.

Let’s hope for a 5/5 weekend again and good luck to everyone playing this weekend 💚💛

As rain ruined many games across the country last Saturday, the 1st XI had no intentions on an abandoned game ⚡️⛈️

The only lightning they were seeing was on the pitch, especially with Tommy Smith’s bowling as he took 5 for 26 runs on a day it was necessary to bowl the oppo out rapidly ❤️

As for the other games, whilst most were cancelled, the 4th xi were lucky to play for 40 overs which also saw lightning, this time it was from the bat of Matthew Hawkes, who scored an unbeaten 88 from 56 balls 🤯

Let’s all hope the rain stays away 🤞 and next week is business resumed 💚💛

Congrats to Rithik Mepani, a century maker in his debut season for the Village. 💯💯💯

Rithik scored 110 not out opening the innings for our 4s away at Bengeo 2nd XI last weekend. Seventeen 4s and one maximum. SR 90.91. ☄️

Impeccable shot selection. Top temperament. Wearing down his opponents.

Many more centuries to come, Rithik!

The only thing that could stop the fine fine start the village have made this season is the rain ☔️

If the weather stays put, this is how the village will line up across all 5 Saturday teams and the Sunday team 💪🏼

Let’s hope that magnificent May can lead swiftly into jubilant June and that the wins keep piling on 🏏 🏆
