ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT: 🏀 Matthew Bryan-Amaning’s basketball journey began at the Brixton Topcats, where he played from the age of 4 and spent 12 years developing his game. His talent earned him a scholarship to South Kent School in the USA, where he became the 2007 Connecticut Gatorade State Player of the Year before starring at the University of Washington and earning First Team All-Pac-10 and Pac-10 Most Improved Player honours in 2011.

🌍 Since turning professional, Matthew has enjoyed a highly successful and dominant international career, playing for teams around the world and earning championships in France, Mexico, Argentina, Japan, and the UK. He has also represented NBA organisations including the New Orleans Pelicans, Chicago Bulls, and Portland Trail Blazers during Summer League competition, while starring for British clubs such as the London Lions, London City Royals, Surrey Scorchers, and Worcester Wolves.

🏆 Along the way, he has collected League MVP, Finals MVP, and Defensive Player of the Year awards, competed in the Basketball Africa League with AS Douanes, and proudly represented Great Britain on the international stage. Matthew remains one of the Brixton Topcats’ greatest success stories and an inspiration to the next generation of players. 🇬🇧✨🏀
