Yes. Robin Hood's Bay. What a quant fish village is where we're staying. Robin Hood's Bay the first evidence of man in the area was 3000 years ago when Bronze Age burial grounds were dug on the high moorland a mile or so south of the village. The ruins of Whitby Abbey are one of the most celebrated sights of North Yorkshire. The first monastery here, founded in about 657, became one of the most important religious centres in the Anglo-Saxon world. In 664 it was the setting for the Synod of Whitby, a landmark in the history of the Church in England. A must visit with so much more history.
