First time back training legs after a week away in Devon. I’m still nursing an annoying calf injury so it was all a bit tentative. Anyway, all good and I got to try my new sleeves out

I’ve had a pretty consistent and successful 4 weeks of training so I decided to test myself again. Today I was Squatting and managed to make some significant improvements.
200 x 2
210 x 1 (1)
140 x 25
I almost got a double at 210, just lost my alignment and balance on the way up. My spotter got me into the rack okay though.
I’ll push on with my other lifts this week and hopefully I’ll see some similar improvements.

Unlikely to find little gems like these in commercial gyms, probably because they would go “missing”. 0.5, 0.25 and 0.125 kg plates allow for much better progression, especially when sets are getting really tough
My little one decided to have a go at her first ever Deadlift. Not bad for a first attempt. Maybe she’ll follow in her mothers footsteps
The better half is in Slovakia with work. I love an old school gym and was a little jealous of her having the opportunity to workout in this place. This is just part of it. The story is that it was formally used for Olympic athletes back in the day. Love a bit of history
140x20 I think my breathing gave up before my legs 😝 This sort of thing used to be a breeze, but still happy to be able to get there in my mid 50s
Testing my Squat today. Really happy with a solid 200. The lifts I’ve done this week have given me a good perspective of where I am at with my training. I now go into a rest week before pushing on with the next phase of training
This was a better test of where I am at. Certainly getting a little dirty towards the end, but super happy with 10.
It certainly wouldn’t pass in a competition, but I was very happy with this single. More than I’ve lifted in an absolute age. I’d love to get back to 140 so work in progress.
I wanted to test myself today to see where I am at. Happy to get a single at 220, which is the heaviest I’ve done in quite a while. Now I have to keep the consistency with this sort of weight and begin to increase the reps.
