I’m really pleased to reintroduce this gentler hatha yoga class back into the weekly schedule .. with the option of joining for the 6 week course of classes for a reduced price but with the flexibility of purchasing single class passes for the dates you can attend if you prefer.

This 6-week course is designed for complete beginners who are new to yoga and prefer a slower-paced, supportive approach. It is also ideal for anyone seeking a gentle yoga practice or returning to exercise following an injury.

No previous yoga experience is required. Each class will introduce foundational yoga postures (asanas), simple breathing techniques (pranayama), and conclude with a short guided relaxation or meditation.

The focus of this course is to help you move with ease, improve flexibility and mobility, and experience the physical and mental benefits of yoga in a safe and accessible way. You should leave each class feeling refreshed, relaxed, and gently stretched—rather than exhausted or sore.

This course is not intended for those looking for a fast-paced or physically demanding practice, but for anyone wishing to build confidence, develop a strong foundation, and enjoy a mindful, restorative introduction to yoga.

Booking is made through the booking site … www.bookwhen.com/heartfeltwellness … these classes are held in Upminster. Please note places are limited to 8. Please get in touch if you need any further information or have any questions. 🙏🏻🧘‍♀️😊

Sunday, a day of rest and what an excellent day to consider Savasana and why we should do it at the end of every yoga class.

It's other traditional name is Mritasana, this literally means dead or co**se pose, so why are we lying playing dead in yoga?!

The aim is detachment; detachment from movement; from effort; from constant doing.

But this consciously letting go is not easy, the struggle can be a real. When we are still the mind can get very loud, but physically something is also happening (or unhappening) so don’t mind the mind!

Muscles start to release, the breath slows, the heart rate slows, our nervous system settles and calms. Our body (and our mind) are able to move from stress to recovery.

All of the poses of the class, all the breathing, the effort , they lead us to our savasana.

So next time you do savasana just trust the stillness is doing the work of undoing. Follow the breath and let you muscles release your tensions. It is the reason why yoga is so different to other fitness classes like Pilates. It’s more than flexible, strong bodies … it’s good for our peace of mind. 🙏🏻🧘‍♀️🥰

There are so many misconceptions about yoga. The actual practice is far more inclusive, far more human. The practice adapts. The shapes can be modified. The breath adjusts. You just have to be willing to start where you are. It’s never too late 🥰🙏🏻

With weekly chair yoga and mat based hatha yoga classes to choose from come and join me this week. I also teach one to one classes. Please get in touch if you’d like more information.
