The Brasilian French Open dream is over. Our wonder boy Joao Fonseca couldn’t resist and lost yesterday evening in the quarter finals of Roland Garros.
To celebrate his incredible achievement, we are getting together this Sunday in the most Brazilian way possible: a super last min event. Beginner & Intermediate mini tournament. The last minute Bola Cup. Kicking off in the morning with Men’s and Women’s doubles, leading up to a Mixed Doubles competition in the afternoon. Finishing off with some well deserved drinks at@two_moreyears.

It’s fine if you don’t have a partner to play. You can sign up yourself and we will help you out. The whole point here is to celebrate the encounters Bola has promoted so far, adding a little spark and spice that only a friendly competitor can bring.

Nat Sharman was literally one of the first players to ever play at Bola last year. Fell in love with the sport straight away. Spent his whole summer with us!

We were all sad this year when he announced that a bad shoulder injury would keep him away from tennis and beach tennis for at least six months. But that was until he found out he was actually able to play left handed and he’s been doing pretty well since.

Nat is one of ours, and he personifies the spirit of this project. We’re here to have fun, exercise and socialize and help grow beach tennis in the UK.

Your resilience is inspiring Nat and we love your sense of humour. Happy birthday! We ❤️ u mate.

Bola Beach Tennis Club restarts officially this coming Thursday with open play sessions making way for a spring and summer packed with themed events including Brazilian Valentine’s Day, World Cup related events, tournaments, as well as the classic Sunset Socials every Friday and Saturday.

And we’re very pleased to be partnering up with who’s taking over our courts for their annual Deuce Spring Cup this coming Sunday (link in bio).
