Chelsea sign £60m star, sell duo and top Premier League table in the club’s perfect August
thechelseachronicle.com

July was a great month for Chelsea, both on and off the pitch, and August has the potential to be just as amazing.

Chelsea were crowned world champions after beating Paris Saint-Germain in the Club World Cup final.

They also managed to strengthen their squad after signing Joao Pedro and Jamie Gittens.

Chelsea are now close to landing Jorrel Hato and are also interested in a couple more players. Land one of them, and it could contribute to another fantastic month. So what exactly does the Blues’ dream August look like?

Chelsea are keen to bring Hato’s compatriot Xavi Simons to Stamford Bridge before the transfer window closes.

It has been claimed that Enzo Maresca has held talks with Simons as he tries to convince the attacking midfielder to move to west London.

According to talkSPORT, RB Leipzig want around €70m (£60.5m) for Simons. If Chelsea pay that and land the 22-year-old, it is a piece of business that they will be very happy with.

Chelsea sell Raheem Sterling and Ben Chilwell
Chelsea having the perfect month in August will also hinge on departures. They still have Raheem Sterling and Ben Chilwell on their books, two players who are on massive wages.

If the Conference League holders can offload the England duo permanently, that would be great. Burnley have reportedly enquired about signing Chilwell.

It has been a while since Chelsea have been at the top of the Premier League, but it is not impossible that Maresca takes his men there this month.

Compared to recent years, the fixture list has been kinder to the Blues, who face Crystal Palace and Fulham at home in their first three games. In between that is a trip to the London Stadium, where they beat West Ham United last season.

All the ingredients are there for Chelsea to have a spectacular August, though you would expect a surprise or two. There always is with this club!

In recent weeks, quite a few players have been the subject of transfer rumours regarding a possible move to Chelsea. And today early morning, a fresh update has arrived on this, which the London club's fans are surely going to like. It looks like the Blues have agreed their next signing of the summer transfer window.

Earlier, Fabrizio Romano had reported that Chelsea and Ajax had made progress in their negotiations for Jorrel Hato on Monday and that the agreement was in its final steps. The Italian journalist had further stated that the player was ready to sign a long-term deal with the Blues, with the two clubs close to a full agreement.

Now, according to Nicolo Schira, it is a done deal and confirmed. Hato to Chelsea from Ajax for €50m. It is set to be a contract until 2033. The Blues were already at work on this transfer from May. The player has always been a main target for Enzo Maresca.

Chelsea initially were reported to have bid €40m, but the Amsterdam club turned down the offer. However, it seems that the negotiations went well, as the deal is believed to have been finalised for €50m. The defender has long been admired by the Blues, who now look set to sign him despite interest from Arsenal and Liverpool.

'Done Deal and confirmed' - Chelsea agree next signing
Hato made his professional debut for Ajax at the age of 16 and has already made 111 appearances for the Dutch giants. He has also featured six times for the Netherlands. Earlier this summer, he even captained their U21 team during the EUROs.

Chelsea clearly needed a backup for Marc Cucurella in the squad. The Spaniard was their most-used player last season. On top of that, Renato Veiga seems set to leave. Hato can now fill that void. However, the Dutch international becomes a versatile option for the team due to his ability to play at both left-back and centre-back.

It will be interesting to see how he fits in with the team and how Maresca will utilise this young talent. Who knows? We might even see a revamped backline after his arrival.

Chelsea plan decisive Xavi Simons transfer move as key moment reached
The very latest on the future of RB Leipzig attacker Xavi Simons as Chelsea prepare to make their opening offer for the 22-year-old Netherlands international

Chelsea are preparing an opening offer for Xavi Simons following progress in talks with RB Leipzig over a move for the Dutchman, football.london understands.

The Blues opened talks with the 22-year-old's representatives last week, with 'super agent' Ali Barat right at the heart of negotiations. A few days later, after personal terms were broadly agreed between Chelsea and Simons, the Blues started dialogue with Leipzig over a fee for the Netherlands international.

Bayern Munich let their interest be known to Leipzig and Simons' entourage, but the Barcelona academy product has his heart set on a move to Stamford Bridge, sources close to the player told football.london. After days locked in talks with Leipzig, Chelsea are now preparing an opening offer for Simons as they look to bring him in time for the upcoming 2025/26 campaign.

Discussions with Leipzig have advanced in recent days and Chelsea are looking to strike while the iron is hot. Simons, who was a keen follower of the Blues growing up, is currently with the Leipzig squad as they put in the work behind closed doors to prepare for the new season. The Dutchman provided two assists for the Germans as they ran riot against Toulouse at the weekend.

Chelsea will be boosted by the imminent sale of Joao Felix to Al-Nassr. The 25-year-old Portugal international is set to join the Saudi Pro League club on a two-year contract, football.london understands, after an agreement was reached with the Blues over a £43.7million total package.

Elsewhere, Chelsea remain in advanced talks with Ajax over a move for Jorrel Hato. The Blues are keen on adding the 19-year-old defender to their ranks as they seek cover for left-back as well as the centre of defence. Hato has agreed on personal terms with Chelsea and is now waiting on the two clubs to reach an agreement.

Ajax are open to selling the Netherlands defender but will only do so for the right price, while Chelsea are confident a deal can be struck.
