Congratulations, but more importantly thank you to Jadon for restoring our old Topper, entering it into the competition and winning us a brand new Topper too!

Jadon started his sailing career at Camp Phoenix on a Stage 1 course in 2018. He found a passion for the sport, and after attending a few traveller series races with Phoenix he got the bug for racing. He entered the London Youth Games in a battered old 1985 Topper which was donated to us the year before. The boat was in a sorry state, but Jadon saw through this and found a love for the little boat. Shortly after he asked us if he could work on the boat to make it better, this developed into completely stripping it down, heading to the topper factory to see how they are made and painstakingly cleaning, rebuilding and replacing components on the boat. During this process he found out about the Reactivate Your Topper Competition and saw an opportunity to try to win Phoenix a new topper so that we could have 2.

Now not only do we have a fantastically well restored topper, but we will have a brand new one joining it very soon. We will be using these boats to help teach and enthuse young people about sailing and racing, and hopefully we will have more young people catching the sailing bug in these boats very soon!

Thank you very much Jadon, Topper International and ITCA.
