Since it's inception in 2008 the foundation has supported over 31,000 athletes and this year we are aiming to support more than ever.

Every year in Hackney we support a range of athletes to achieve their sporting goals. Just like Isla who receives support for swimming.

"I have dreamt of becoming an Olympic swimmer for as long as I can remember. In the year ahead there will need to be huge levels of training to achieve my potential...so support from the GLL Sport Foundation is particularly important in my situation. My study schedule means that I cannot attend as many of my regular training and gym sessions as I need. GLL Sport Foundation support enables me to undertake training at other times that do not impact my educational goals."

Hackney Swim School Gala 🏊

Our upcoming Gala on Saturday, 13th July will be starting at 9am. It's going to be a fun-filled event with great friendly races for children to participate in and show off their swimming skills.

Don't forget to speak to the swimming teachers to book your space for the Gala. Remember, all children must be registered to take part! This is a fantastic opportunity for the kids to have some friendly competition and enjoy a day at the pool.

We can't wait to see all the children in action and have a great time together.

Come along to the Hackney Health Fair on Wednesday 10th July from 12pm-4pm.

It will be based in Studio 1 and 2 at Britannia Leisure Centre and costs you nothing to attend.
