Struggling to keep up with everything? Here’s why… 👇
Reminder: The 5-day, 40-hour work week was designed in the early 1900s… for men…
And those men had housewives at home doing:
🍲 Cooking every meal
🧹 Cleaning the house
🧒 Looking after the kids
🧺 Tackling the laundry pile
Fast forward 100 years and…
Women are working full-time jobs and still doing most of this unpaid labour (50% more than men)
So if you’re wondering why you feel frazzled trying to:
📧 Stay on top of work emails
🍳 Decide what’s for dinner
📱 Reply to 37 WhatsApps
🧦 Match the odd socks…
…it’s not because you’re ‘bad at adulting’.
It’s because the system was literally never designed with you in mind.
Modern life expects us to:
✨ Excel at work
✨ Be present partners & parents
✨ Keep our homes Insta-worthy
✨ Meal prep like a nutritionist
✨ Stay fit, fun and social
And honestly, some days just getting through your inbox, taking your vitamins and remembering to defrost the dinner should count as an Olympic-level achievement.
So no, it’s not that you’re not enough.
It’s that you’re doing the work of two people, in a system that was built for one.
Do you struggle with the juggle?
Let us know in the comments.

I was 13, running the 800m against a girl called Sam Black (not her real name, of course.)
She had a trainer. She’d been practising for months. And somewhere in the weeks before that race I decided, without ever really deciding, that I wouldn’t be beating her.
I came so close. Right on her shoulder at the finish.
I’ve thought about that race for years since, because I reckon if I’d properly believed I could win it, I would have. My legs were capable of those few extra inches. The belief was the thing missing.
It’s stayed with me because I see the same thing constantly in the women I work with. Someone who’s brilliant at her job, knows her subject inside out, and still can’t speak up in a meeting because underneath there’s a belief sitting there saying “I’m the anxious one” or “I’ll make a fool of myself.”
And you can’t argue your way out of a belief like that. I tried for years, listing evidence at myself like a barrister, then walking into the room feeling exactly as I did before. These beliefs sit in the subconscious mind, usually installed years ago by something you barely remember, and logic tends to bounce right off them.
Which is why I went into this work. Hypnotherapy lets you get in at that deeper level and change the programme where it’s actually running.
I still think about Sam Black sometimes. And about what my legs might have done with a different story in my head.

I never thought I’d be a shouty Mum - and I wasn’t - until I had a second child... and found myself pushed to my limit some days. This just the book I’ve needed.
Loved celebrating the launch of ‘s new book ‘How to Stop Snapping at the People you Love’.
I left my 6 month old with my sisters and felt like a Mum off the leash 😂 We did a boxing class to release some anger, felt the shame melt away as Anna shared her own stories of losing her temper and I met some amazing women.
The hilarious and Alyssa Kyria - the most encouraging sparring partner
Kate Okello Tarrant | actor, voice artist, writer, founder, mum hearing about her incredible events.
who the algorithm had introduced me to just weeks ago while I was struggling with my 3 year olds intense behaviour and her account has made me feel so seen.
who’s weaning book I dusted off the shelf last week in preparation for weaning my nearly 6 month old.
Rosamund Dean Amazing to see Rosamund after podcasting together and who I’ve followed for ages.
who has possibly the most calming energy out there
And the incredibly sparkly human that is Francesca Olivia/ Psychotherapist hearing about her amazing therapy work.

Yeah, still fuming over here.
And don't get me wrong, I did have compassion for the guy in many ways. I'm sure he had some real concerns, like NHS waiting lists and being unable to get a dentist appointment. I just think his hatred is very misplaced.
Can anyone share ideas on what we can do to tackle this? I feel very worried about Reform getting in.
Or maybe you have a story of hope to share!?
I felt pretty bleak after this exchange.

POV: You’ve been running on anxiety, adrenaline and to-do lists for as long as you can remember and you’re finally ready to try a different way.
This is for the woman who gets stuff done but is exhausted underneath it all. The one who lies in bed at night running through tomorrow before she’s even finished today. The one who’s tried the books, the breathing exercises, the positive thinking, and none of it has actually shifted the thing that keeps her stuck.
Here are 8 things that have actually helped me, not as concepts but as things I do in real life, as a mum of 2, a working hypnotherapist and someone who spent most of her twenties and thirties running on pure adrenaline.
The biggest shift? Understanding that anxiety isn’t a thinking problem. It’s a subconscious pattern. And you can’t fix a subconscious problem with conscious tools. You have to go to where the programme lives and update it from the inside.
If any of this sounds like you, save this post and come back to it when you need it. And comment RESET if you want my free 25-minute hypnotherapy audio to start working with your subconscious mind instead of against it 💖
