Here’s a few exercises I often see executed too fast and without focusing on muscle contractions.

Next time you do these exercises focus on slow and controlled movements (you WILL need to reduce the weight). Also keep your core contracted throughout to prevent using your lower back and focus on squeezing your glutes throughout. Try it and let me know how the burn felt πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯

BENT OVER HAMSTRING STRETCH.

On the left is the most common way I see people attempting to stretch their hamstrings. This is incorrect as you must lengthen the hamstrings in order to stretch them effectively! On the right side you can see my back is neutral while I use my hips to lengthen my hamstrings by aiming to point my glutes up away from the ground as much as possible. Try it and see just how flexible your hamstrings really are! In my personal opinion, there are other stretches that are just as effective for stretching the hamstrings. Just remember to keep your back straight and pull your hips away from your hamstrings.

**New goal** Day 1

For the next 112 days / 3 months I will be aiming to build and increase my lean muscle mass. My goal before the summer was to lose 5kg of body fat which I accomplished and now the summer is drawing to an end, it's time to pack on some muscle mass. Follow my story on while I work to achieve this. Anyone that has a similar goal or looking to decrease their body fat, make sure you get in contact for tips.
