It was looking like it was going to be a tough weekend for Gareth williams when he set up on prairie lake at elphicks fishery, Especially when the bailiffs said its been fishing really hard due to the hot weather

Gareth went for his go to tactic of pva bags of mixed pellets and a multi rig set up tied with the Freefall braid, Gareth’s a big fan of this hooklink and quoting his words “this stuff is hard wearing i make up all my hook lengths in advance and tie them on to a 2.5/3oz inline lead, they last forever and all I need to do is change the hook occasionally! I use a small kicker to hold the loop and micro swivel in place .

Gareths recent session is proof it works as he had 13 up to 34lb 14oz including 3 30s and loads of 20s.

Well The Big Fish N Show did not disappoint, what a weekend!

We all thoroughly enjoyed the event and it was refreshing to see so many anglers and non anglers of all ages really interacting on the stand and wanting to perfect their spodding skills on the lake.

A huge thanks to all that took the time to visit us on the stand and big credit to all the team involved at thebigfishnshow in organising a great event and the staff at badenhallfishery . Roll on next year👍

Catching up with Russell Crisci

Russ’s water has been choked with w**d but by baiting in a few areas he’s managed to keep the bites coming. The approach has been simple, rigs placed amongst the w**d & baited with a good spread of Dynamites fishmeals. The setup has been simple and strong, Pop up rigs using Hydrolink with Xcalibr Chod hooks and linkteq leaders.
