Millwall Park is a public park on the Isle of Dogs in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. It is adjoined by Mudchute Urban Park and Farm.
Millwall Park offers a variety of facilities, mostly for active recreation. It has football pitches, cricket, bowls, play areas (toddlers, juniors and older children), a play centre for under 5s and changing rooms. There are paths for strolling, seats, trees, meadows and other planting for biodiversity and scenic value. The site represents the heritage of the former docks and shipping industries i
n the shape of the now disused railway viaduct and the former ropewalk, all within view of Canary Wharf. This former docklands site complements the formal, riverside Island Gardens, by providing for active sports and play as well as space to get away from the urban scene and to see the sky. The site is linked to the Mudchute Urban Park and Farm. The three sites together offer a tremendous variety of scenic interest and considerable wildlife value, all within the heart of London. The community makes good use of the site with a massive amount of sporting activity and an increasing amount of community events. Local schools and office workers from the Isle of Dogs business district make good use of the site. We are improving the quality and range of facilities as well as the biodiversity value of the site.
