Success story! Wow just wow Stephen Pearson!! Congratulations all the work paid off
Stephen set a target of running a half marathon after a previous Achilles issue and being unable to walk without a limp. We have worked with him to rehab and strengthen and he smashed his half marathon in a time of 1 hour 52 minutes, coming 2nd for his age category.
Great achievement - proud and this is why we love doing what we do!

“I’ve got DOMS! Sorry I can’t train”
Delayed onset muscle soreness is muscle pain that starts after your workout. DOMS usually starts a day or two after your workout.
The main reason for Doms is high intensity exercise which causes small tears in our muscle fibres. Our body responds to this by increasing inflammation.
You may feel loss of strength for a short period, muscle swelling and stiffness. Warming up with dynamic stretching and cooling down with static stretching will help with DOMS along with resting the muscles used for 2-3 days.
Doms can be mild or can actually really hurt and its important to listen to your body and remember to progress with training slowly and your body will adapt meaning less DOMS. Be patient!
No pain no gain is not always the case……..

Amelia came to us with a trimalleolar fracture. Due to the severity of this injury, Amelia had to stay non weight bearing for a minimum of 6 weeks with gradual weaning off the boot over the following 6 weeks. Whilst it is important to focus on the range of motion at the ankle in these early stages, the rest of the kinetic chain should not be forgotten about. Gentle cycling is a great exercise maintain some cardio fitness, muscle mass of the quadriceps and range of motion at the hip and knee joint as well as wean Amelia back towards normal gait. Baby steps but we will have Amelia back to her passion of surfing in no time.

Client Focus Vanessa
Vanessa has osteoarthritis of her knee so it is vital that we keep the muscles around the knee joint strong and stable, this can aid in decreasing the pain experienced as a symptom of osteoarthritis.
Performing single leg exercises ensures the required muscles are effectively activated and limits any compensation that may occur from the opposite leg if we performed double sided exercises.
It is important to avoid high impact exercises as to not trigger flare ups and aggravate the knee joint, so spending time under tension is a great way to work the muscles at a high intensity without putting the knee joint under too much stress.
Adding the Bosu Ball increases the muscles activated during stability exercises while avoiding overloading, keeping the movement controlled.
💪
If you want to cure your knee pain call us and our team of experts can help you regain pain free movement

Danny is a keen footballer who has neural inhibition of the quadriceps due to a previous injury. As a result he has muscle atrophy in his left leg. Here we are working to achieve hypertrophy of the muscle through using heavy load resistance training combined with electrical stimulation.
