Thank you to everyone who donated this weekend at our Ukraine fundraiser 💙💛. We held 3 mat Pilates classes on line and had people dropping in to the studio to donate too.

Every penny will go to help the victims of this horrendous war.

Try waking your back up every morning with cat 🐈 cow 🐄.

It mobilises the spine and feels great 👍🏻 😊.

Happy Friday everyone! Hope you’ve all had a fantastic week 👏🏼😀👍🏼

In an earlier post I shared some key exercises to build core muscles. Have you tried them? How did you get on? 🤔

Our core strength is so important for balance, stability and supporting our body to do what we ask it to🤸🏾.

One of the best ways to build core muscles is to plank. You can plank anytime anywhere!⏱🏖

Today I’m encouraging you to pick a plank variation that works for you and build it in to your routine.

During Feb I’m loving using the resistance band 🔥 in my pilates routines.

If you’ve not got one, the belt from a robe or a bungee cord works too.
🤸🏽‍♂️

Slowly, and with control, move up from lying on your back with your knees bent into a ‘V’ shape ❤️. Then, gradually return to lying on your back with your arms outstretched, while holding the band tight. 🐢

This is an excellent move to strengthen your core and work those abs hard 👍🏻.

Remember, the slower you can do this the better! I recommend doing this 10X but if you’re more advanced, try 2-3 sets of a lower number of reps. Let me know what you think 😊⬇️

Got a resistance band at home? If not, get yourself one today they really aren’t too pricey, only £4-10 on Amazon / Decathlon and so adaptable and useful for pilates!

The ‘Squats With Frontal Raise’ pilates exercise is amazing and literally works a ton of your muscles. We’re talking glutes, hip flexors, shoulders, quads. The lot. And, on a secondary level also your abs, hamstrings, lower back… Basically it’s doing you a lot of good and it’s a brilliant exercise to do!

We’re just loving doing planks right now... 💕🤸‍♀️

Have you tried mixing up your planks and using a Swiss Ball / Fitball 🟣? (If you don’t have one at home, a kids spacehopper or a large ball ⚽️ can work pretty well too💪!)
