Reliving the greatest Premier League moments. Legends, rivalries, goals, nostalgia

THE BOSNIAN DIAMOND! 💎

When we talk about the players who built the modern Manchester City, we have to talk about Edin Džeko.

He didn’t just score goals; he scored the ones that mattered most. That day against QPR in 2012? Everyone remembers the Agüero moment, but none of that happens without Džeko’s massive header to make it 2-2 in stoppage time.

The man was a proper throwback striker. 6ft 4in, brilliant in the air, and could finish with either foot. He gave everything for the shirt, bagging 72 goals in 189 games and helping the club lift two Premier League titles, the FA Cup, and the League Cup.

A absolute legend of the Premier League era. Does he get enough credit?

McGrath: PFA Players' Player of the Year award 1992.

He wasn't just a defender; he was the wall that held everything together. When we talk about the very first Premier League season back in 92/93, one name stands above the rest. Paul McGrath.

At a time when attackers usually stole the headlines, the big man at Aston Villa showed everyone how it was done. Even with knees that were shot to bits—the man literally couldn't train during the week—he turned up every Saturday and played like he was reading the future.

42 games. 4 goals. A mountain at the back.
He didn't just win the PFA Players' Player of the Year award because he was good; he won it because every other player in the league knew exactly how hard it was to get past him. Villa pushed Manchester United all the way that year, and it was entirely down to McGrath leading the line.

A proper legend of the game. Simple as that.

Teddy Sheringham : Premier League Legend

You cannot talk about Premier League history without mentioning Teddy Sheringham. The man was pure class. He was not the fastest, and he did not have the most powerful shot, but he had a brain that was two steps ahead of every defender on the pitch.

He could hold the ball up, bring others into play, and finish when it mattered most.

Here is why he is a proper legend:
Longevity: He played at the top level well into his 40s. He still holds the record as the oldest outfield player to play and score in the Premier League.

The Big Moments: He scored that massive equalizer in the 1999 Champions League final, but his league record was just as impressive. He finished with 146 Premier League goals.

The Brains: He was the ultimate "number 10" before everyone started using that term. Whether at Spurs, Manchester United, or West Ham, he made those around him look better.

A Proven Winner: He picked up three Premier League titles at Old Trafford and won the PFA Players' Player of the Year in 2001 when he was 35 years old. That tells you everything you need to know about his quality.

He wasn't just a goalscorer; he was a proper footballer.

Who remembers watching him play? Did you prefer him in his prime at Spurs or his trophy-winning years at United? Let us know in the comments.

Premier League Legend: Mark Hughes

Before the game became all about intricate tiki-taka, it was ruled by players with grit, power, and a lethal touch. Mark Hughes, better known to all of us as "Sparky", was the definition of that breed.

Whether he was bullying defenders for Manchester United or orchestrating beautiful moves with Gianfranco Zola at Stamford Bridge, Hughes was a winner in every sense of the word.

The Highlights:
The Trophy Cabinet: He walked away with two Premier League titles, four FA Cups, three League Cups, and two UEFA Cup Winners' Cups. A serial winner.

The Awards: He made history as the first player to ever win the PFA Players' Player of the Year award twice (1989 and 1991).

The Chelsea Magic: Joining the Blues in 1995, his partnership with Zola remains one of the most iconic duos in our club’s history. Who could forget him coming off the bench to help turn that 2-0 deficit into a 4-2 win against Liverpool in the 1997 FA Cup run?

The "Sparky" Style: He wasn't just a goalscorer; he was a master of hold-up play. He’d take a battering from centre-halves and still have the composure to lash in an acrobatic volley.

From Old Trafford to the Bridge, and later his stints at Southampton, Everton, and Blackburn, he left his mark on every pitch he stepped onto.
A true warrior of the game.

What’s your favorite "Sparky" memory?

As it stands in the English Premier League

Why Aston Villa Finishing 5th Could Help Chelsea and the Premier League Teams.

As we know, Aston Villa won the Europa League yesterday and already secured a place in next season’s Champions League.

But there is one final twist that could benefit Chelsea and several other Premier League clubs.

Villa may still need to do one more favour.

The Important Part: Finish 5th (EPS)

If Aston Villa finish 5th in the Premier League after already qualifying for the Champions League through the Europa League, their European Performance Spot (EPS) would effectively pass down the table.

That means:

- 6th place would qualify for the Champions League instead of the Europa League.

At the moment, Bournemouth sit in that position, although Brighton still have an outside chance of taking it on the final day.

What Needs to Happen?

Villa are currently 4th.

For them to finish 5th:

- Villa must lose away to Manchester City.
- Liverpool must beat Brentford at Anfield.

That would leave both sides level on points, with Liverpool likely finishing above Villa on goal difference.

Why This Matters for Chelsea

For Chelsea, the equation becomes much simpler if this happens.

Instead of relying on several complicated scenarios elsewhere, Chelsea would only need to beat Sunderland and hold their current league position to qualify for Europa League.

Villa finishing 5th could trigger a chain reaction that reshapes the entire European qualification picture for England.

The final day suddenly has a lot more riding on it than people first realised.
