Our Story
Sang Moo TGMS Martial Arts Academy was established in July 2005 in Isleworth, Middlesex. Shortly, the academy opened a second branch in Kingston, Surrey. The academy was founded by Grand Master Tae Yong Lee, a former South Korean Special Forces Drill Master and Military Martial Arts Instructor who was an international level representative for Korea in San Da (Kung Fu).
Today, Sang Moo TGMS Martial Arts Academy is hosted by the London Institute of Martial Arts (LIMA) at its Isleworth facility. Its four qualified instructors teach a retained student base of over 300 individuals.
Sang Moo TGMS Martial Arts Academy provides instruction in martial arts for private individuals, as well as providing specialist instruction for body guards, security personnel, and law enforcement agencies. Sang Moo has trained law enforcement and elite protection personnel in the US, South Korea, Jordan, Iraq, the UAE and the UK.
Teuk Gong Moo Sool (TGMS);
Sang Moo TGMS Martial Arts Academy specialises in Teuk Gong Moo Sool (TGMS). Teuk (Special) Gong (Force) Moo (Martial) Sool (Way) is the martial art of the South Korean Special Forces. TGMS has been adapted by Sang Moo for use in a civil environment for self defence. The TGMS curriculum covers striking, joint manipulation, throwing, falling, grappling, weapons and the development of explosive power, flexibility and endurance. The curriculum is spread out over eight levels, or belts. These are; White, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Brown, Red, Black. Progression through all belts typically takes between three and four years for a dedicated student attending three times a week. Progress can be faster or slower dependent upon attendance and training.
