Last Tuesday the rain in Girona did not stopped us for organizing a special event for the RCC members that are in town to participate at

Together with and the children from the we learn how and why the Team Amani was created. , team director, took us through the story of this young team and all the barriers they have overcome to get where they are now.

We also livestream the documentary from about his experience at the migration gravel last year.

All the attendees were deeply inspired by all this stories of overcoming boundaries and how cycling can actually change people’s lives. An evening that none of us will forget.

Gravel Escape Girona.

Day one and two completed. Yesterday was the toughest route of the Escape with 110km gravel, some technical sections and more than 1600mt elevation.

Today we have the longest route ahead. 120km. We are heading to the coast to enjoy the stunning gravel sections that are waiting for us.

We have a wonderful group of cyclist coming from so different places and backgrounds and all connected by the same passion for cycling.

So far the weather has been perfect with temperatures between 18 and 22 degrees and today is even hotter.

And that’s why, from 2nd-12th June, we’re calling on RCC members across the world to come together – virtually or in the wild – to roll out in celebration of sharing the ride. We’ll be taking to the roads, lanes, tracks and trails across our global community for a cycling event like no other, as we amass as many kilometres as possible over 11 days.⁠

Restrictions in Hong Kong have been in place for some time now. Since February this year, our riders and team members have been restricted to gathering in groups of two max with mandatory masks for outdoor exercise.⁠

This has hit riders hard. Known as the “city that never sleeps,” the team in Hong Kong are used to seeing busy streets, delicious food, local night rides and busy crowds. Covid changed all of that.⁠

So to celebrate their usually vibrant city, the team set RCC members a Spring Riding Challenge requiring them to ride 749km (the combined distance of Strade Bianche, Milan-San Remo & Tour of Flanders) as well as taking photos for the Empty City Contest to show how much the city has changed throughout the pandemic.⁠

Of all the entries, RCC member Kent Wong was chosen as the winner thanks to his hauntingly empty streets illuminated only by the street lights.⁠

Looking for a riding challenge to take on this year? Here at the RCC we’re proud to support our members at the world’s most famous sportives, and this April sees us on the ground in Mallorca for the fearsome 312 challenge.⁠

Whether you’re already signed up or are just looking for a new challenge, our member perks will help you to have the best sportive day possible.
