When examining how the spine works under load, everything starts with the pelvis position. Ideally, the spine rises straight up from the sacral base at a balanced upright angle.

This setup helps compressive forces and ground reactions spread evenly through the spine. If the pelvis tilts away from neutral, this pathway is disrupted; this can lead to extra stress, mild aches and pains, reduced energy, and inefficient force production.

The body generates force to maintain postural stability against gravity during static or dynamic movement.

When posture aligns with the body’s center of mass, ground reaction forces are distributed evenly. This optimises movement and reduces the risk of injury and pain..

What we see here is a myofascial continuity in action. Fascia isn’t just a wrap around individual muscles; it’s a continuous, dynamic network connecting the kinetic chain from head to toe. When there’s a fascial restriction, the body will find its way to compensate. By targeting the trigger points at the hip, we clear fascial restrictions and restore proper communication along this web-like structure.

Where you feel the pain isn’t always where the problem started!

Plyometric training involves quick, controlled movements that help the body produce force more efficiently. It improves how muscles absorb and generate force, supporting better movement, strength, and overall physical function in everyday life as well as exercise.

✅ Less energy per explosive effort
✅ Faster force production
✅ Stronger lifts and 1RM carryover
✅ Quicker eccentric to concentric transition
✅ Reduced sticking at the bottom position
✅ Improved control and coordination
✅ Improved bone mineral density
✅ Better movement efficiency
✅ Enhanced joint and tendon resilience

This is a good example of how flexibility and mobility support strength.

When joints can move through a full range of motion, muscles can work at better lengths, which helps them produce force more efficiently.

Good mobility also allows the body to remain stable and well-aligned so that strength can be controlled rather than compensated for.

If movement is restricted, force output is limited, and the body has to rely on poor positions.

This shows that mobility is not separate from strength — it plays a key role in how effectively strength is produced, controlled, and expressed.

Next week, join me for a 2-hour practical workshop on gait and running biomechanics — and discover how efficient movement patterns directly impact weightlifting performance, plyometric power, and overall athletic output.

What you’ll learn:

* Gait Mechanics – Break down the walking and running cycle to understand force production, posture, and efficiency.
* Assessment Skills – Learn how to identify movement patterns that can limit or enhance power production across sports and lifts.
* Corrective Strategies – Apply targeted exercises to optimise biomechanics, improve performance, and reduce injury risk.
