Our 2019s playing their first 5-aside game this morning against a cracking Foyle Harps side.

Maiden City 1 v 5 Desertmartin FC

Goalscorer: Bart Wesolowski.

City were blown away in the first half by a string Desertmartin side.

Jon McClean on ninth minute and Bryn Jones on seventeenth minute got the away team off to a flying start.

It was all one way traffic and Daniel McElhatton added the third goal with a worldie of a strike just before the half hour mark.

City eventually responded and Jake Montgomery missed their best chance when he clipped the woodwork after arriving late at the back post.

When Josh returned a pass to Matty Colhoun inside the opposition box he was taken out by the defender but unfortunately John Deeney was unable to convert the spot kick.

City would have deserved the goal and a way back into the game at this point but unfortunately they were unable to keep pressing and the Craig Memorial Cup winners added a forth before half-time.

City made a fight of the game in the second half and Bart Wesolowski scored on his debut to give City a goal they deserved.

Desertmartin added a fifth minutes before the final whistle through Daniel Barfoot.

Well done to Desertmartin on a deserved win.

City travels to Newbuildings Utd in the last game of the McReynolds Cup next Saturday.

We would like to wish our U18 Player, Cabhán a very speedy recovery and sending our best wishes to him after sustaining a serious break to his tibia and fibula at a match last night.

Cabhán, though in a lot of pain and surgery ahead of him is in good spirits.

We would like to thank all coaches and staff at Cliftonville FC for their prompt response and support to our coaching team and follow up messages on our players welfare.

Football is built on competition, but it is sportsmanship and professionalism in difficult moments that truly reflect the values of the game.

All the best on your road to recovery Cabhán, you’ll be back in no time 💪❤️⚽️

Maiden City FC are delighted to welcome Tiernan Doherty back to the club, where he spent four seasons following his move from Dergview FC and with a previous spell at Coleraine FC.

Tiernan brings commitment, excellent attitude, and strong ability, and he will be a valuable addition as we continue to build and develop a young, energetic squad. His willingness to work hard and push forward makes him a great fit for the group both on and off the pitch.

We’re looking forward to seeing Tiernan progress and play his part in the remainder of the season.

We are delighted to announce the signing of forward Bart Wesolowski transferring from Buncrana Hearts.

Bart is a natural striker with a proven eye for goal and has been an active contributor in matches, scoring goals — including match winning goals.

He was recognised at the club’s Senior Awards as both Top Goalscorer and Player’s Player of the Year at his former Club.

Talented player who brings experience and goals to our young and exciting squad.
