Week 10 delivered another excellent night of darts at The Sportsman Pub, with several high-quality performances, big finishes and maximums across the boards as players continue to battle for every point at this crucial stage of the season.
The standout performer of the evening was undoubtedly Steve Taylor, who produced one of the finest displays seen this season. Taylor recorded two victories on the night, including a dominant 8-0 win over Andrew Ellis, and followed that up with a 6-2 victory over Stefan Slowinski.
His performance against Slowinski was particularly remarkable. Taylor fired in back-to-back 180s, and completed the match in an astonishing 11 darts. The leg featured a superb 136.64 average, highlighting the quality of scoring throughout the visit. Taylor also added a 110 checkout, three maximums, and claimed the night's Least Darts award with the spectacular 11-darter.
Elsewhere, Sam Lander continued his strong form with an impressive 7-1 victory over George Tower, adding a brilliant 120 checkout, a maximum and a 17-dart leg to the night's statistics.
At the top end of the averages, Phil Rex opened the evening with a convincing 7-1 win over Stefan Slowinski, while Tony Booth produced a commanding 7-1 success against Ash Bramley. Mark Tedds, Pete Fitzpatrick, Lee Draper, Tony Glover, Richard Turgoose and Craig Richards all secured important wins to strengthen their league campaigns.
A complete performance that will take some beating for individual display of the season.
Week 10 proved once again why the League remains so competitive, with maximums, ton-plus finishes and high-quality legs throughout the evening, but the night will be remembered for Steve Taylor's outstanding 11-darter. π―π
