Loughborough Carillon Cricket Club

Sunday marked the club's first inter-squad friendly for our Women's section, bringing together players from both the Women's and Girls' teams for a fantastic day of cricket.

From fine-tuning key areas of their game, to learning the roles of umpiring and scoring, and even sending the ball flying to all parts of Moor Lane, it was a brilliant day of learning, development, and enjoyment.

A huge thank you to everyone involved for making it such a successful occasion. Here's to many more opportunities to play, learn, and grow together! 🏏💜💛

An incredible start to the season for the Loughborough Carillon U13's who played against Ibstock earlier this week!

The girls put on an impressive 95 runs and secured a brilliant 48-run victory over Ibstock, a fantastic team performance and a great way to kick off the season.

📢 Match Week 1 – Results 📢

Our first match week of the season brought plenty of excitement back to Moor Lane! The Ones came agonisingly close to a full 25-point haul, falling short by just 2 runs in a thrilling contest.

On the flip side, the 3rd XI got their campaign off to the perfect start, edging a nail-biting 2-run victory.

The Twos continued their preseason, showing real moments of brilliance, but ultimately couldn’t quite post a big enough total on the board, falling short Vs Greenfields.

🚨POTM – Match Week 1🚨

League cricket is well and truly back!
Swapnil Kulkarni kicked off his season in style, smashing a brilliant 50 and claiming 4 wickets. It was a standout all-round performance that nearly turned the game, but the Ones fell agonisingly short by just 2 runs.

The Twos continued their extended preseason campaign, with Rishi “The Chancellor” Vaidya bringing up his first 50 of the season in fine fashion, demonstrating a strong mix of finesse and aggression.

Meanwhile, Anil Patel made an immediate impact in his first game of the campaign, scoring a match-winning 50 to guide the Threes to a thrilling 2-run victory in their opening league fixture.

📢 PLAYERS OF THE MATCH 📢

The first outing of the season delivered some outstanding performances.

Billy Crouch picked up right where he left off last season, starting his campaign in style by scoring the first half-century of the season.

Oscar Trimmingham made an important contribution with the ball and showed great determination with the bat while wickets were falling around him, helping guide his side to a respectable total and protecting his average. Alongside him, Ed Brown produced a spell for the ages, taking 4 wickets for just 20 runs, including 4 maidens.

While wickets tumbled at the other end, Dan Oakden did his best to carry his bat through the innings, eventually falling in the 28th over of a reduced 30-over match. Nevertheless, it was an impressive knock and a brilliant start to his season.

❗WEEKEND RESULTS❗

The cricket season is underway. While results didn't go our way there were plenty of positives to take away.

Mainly some big contributions from our juniors who are making great strides as they start to find their feet in senior cricket.

The 1's and 3's head into their first league game next week while the 2's carry on with their extended pre-season.
