🏏 WHATTON CC 6-A-SIDE 2026 🏆

What a day at Whatton! A massive thank you to everyone who came down, played, supported, helped out and made this year’s 6-a-side such a brilliant day. 🍻🏏

From the fancy dress and questionable outfits to the cricket, music, BBQ and a few drinks along the way, there was plenty going on both on and off the pitch! 😂

A few individual performances deserve a mention too…

🏏 Most Runs
🥇 Adam Thompson — 97
🥈 Gareth Goodall — 71
🥉 Ben Cross — 70

🎯 Most Wickets
🥇 Ben Cross — 5
🥈 Henry Jones — 4
🥉 Mark Lester — 3

Congratulations to Adam Thompson for finishing as the tournament’s leading run scorer, and Ben Cross for taking the most wickets — as well as putting together a pretty handy 70 runs! 👏

Most importantly, a huge thank you to everyone who helped make the day happen, whether that was organising, umpiring, scoring, working the BBQ and bar, playing, or simply coming down to support. 💛

A proper day of village cricket at Whatton. Roll on the next one! 🏏🍺

⭐ PLAYER HIGHLIGHT ⭐

🔥 Noah Beddow – 7 WICKETS vs Bardon Hill

What a performance! Noah produced a brilliant spell, finishing with 7 wickets for only 29 runs.

A massive contribution that helped the 1st XI secure an impressive 105-run victory. Well bowled, Noah! 👏🔥

And, as always, a massive thank you to all of our fantastic sponsors for their continued support of Long Whatton Cricket Club. Your support is hugely appreciated and helps the club continue to grow. 💙💛

29/08/2026

Between them, Mark Lester and Noah have racked up an impressive 4,302 runs… although let’s be honest, Mark has scored 4,000 of them!

Mark, the obvious batting talent of the pair, has consistently piled on the runs and shown exactly what a proper batsman looks like.

Then there’s Noah, contributing the remaining 302 runs and proving that sometimes it’s not about the runs you score, but simply the entertainment you provide along the way. A true specialist in being an idiot, but we wouldn’t have him any other way.

4,302 runs between them. One batsman. One idiot. What a partnership. 🏏😂
