Today saw the start of England Hockey’s Junior Championships and the U14 boys campaign began with a trophy fixture away at Beeston! 🏑🏑
Go back 12 months and that’s where we started last year and got a rude awakening to age group hockey, and we were roundly beaten 4.1. However today, a year older and a years experience under our belts We came flying out of the blocks and a tremendous goal saw us 1.0 up...
We poured pressure on the Beeston goal and chances came and went. We played some amazing hockey and went in at half time 2.0 up.
2nd half started and we were nervous that a well drilled team like Beeston would come flying at us. Indeed they did we held our ground and then found another gear...
It was an excellent team performance from every player today..
Defence held strong, Midfield worked hard up and down the pitch, Forwards kept the pressure on and created chances.
An 8.0 win sees us going into the next round of the Trophy!
Given that we joined forces with Westleigh again, the 2 sets of players, played as one and really are coming together as a team.
Well done Char-Leigh boys!! 💚🤍🧡
