⭐️⭐️⭐️RESIDENT OF THE WEEK ⭐️⭐️⭐️

This weeks resident of the week is Maggie from Alder House Care Home - Avery Healthcare. Maggie always joins in our darts session showing persistence and enthusiasm. Maggie has done so well and showed improvement from our very first session to our latest visit.

Another wonderful afternoon was had at Alder House in Nottingham yesterday afternoon.

Deidre and Derek came into the session as the defending champions and in the session we had a record amount of Bulls and 25s. It was a close game where it came down to the final round but Deidre Louise and Maggie would win the gold cups.

It’s always a great time at Alder House and we can’t wait to go back on Friday 13th November.

This morning it was back to Nottingham and the fantastic Acer Court.

A popular session with the residents at this wonderful home and today was no different. In a game of beat the score the residents impressed with some great numbers being hit. A shoutout to Rachel, who hit 160 points, starting with 2 treble 20s followed by a double…. The best score hit by a staff member so far.

Our winners today were Molly and Audrey who were both delighted to be the gold cup winners. After the session Agnes was saying “I like playing games like that,” to which Maureen said “yes it’s good fun and it breaks the day up.”

This afternoon Tara headed to Glenmoor house in Corby.

Lovely afternoon here, with a small group (as lots of people were resting after the morning activities!). But never the less, we had a great time. Lots of smiles, fun & encouragement between residents, visitors & staff.

Bob really enjoyed having a go, Billy progressed each time & got better & better, Suzanne was really determined, Richard hit some brilliant scores and Marion did well with the Velcro board, but today’s winner was Margaret.

Margaret was brilliant. Really great hand eye coordination and hit some great scores. She was delighted to win 🏆

This afternoon Tara visited The Meadows care home.

Again, another lovely small group of residents keen to play darts.
Everybody here was really impressive with lots of determination and encouragement for each other.

Jenny & Majorie did well.
John and Gwen improved on each turn that they had. June hit some great scores, and June with the Velcro board also did really well too.

But today’s winner was Sheila 🏆
Sheila was delighted to win, after telling Tara she could only see out of one eye. She really enjoyed the darts and was asking when we were back again.

This morning Tara headed to Rivendell View care home.

The usual full room of residents & staff was smaller than normal today. Lots of people are unfortunately poorly 🤒
Therefore everybody got plenty of turns today.

Last times winner Betty started off well, as did Rita and Dennis… hitting some impressive scores.
Sylvia, Janet & Bruce also did really well today too. Sylvia is determined to win the darts one day!

Today’s winner was Dennis 🏆
He was delighted with another gold cup.

This afternoon Tara visited the lovely Westview….
What a lovely full room of happy, smiling residents & staff. Everybody really enjoyed today’s darts session.

There was lots of residents enjoying both the standard board & the Velcro board. Lots of fantastic scores hit and everybody was really keen to improve their last score. Plenty of encouragement & determination.

Today’s winners were Cynthia on the standard board and Shirley on the Velcro board. 🎯

This afternoon Simon went over to the beautiful Fosse Way View in Newark.

We have a predominantly ladies group here and today Paul joined the session. Paul hit the biggest score of the session but was unable to win the trophy as Dorothy managed to beat him to the gold cup with some solid and consistent scores.

Ann would win the Velcro competition as she managed to accumulate over 200 points and hit the bullseye and a treble 20 during the session.

This afternoon Tara headed to Bradley Hall care home.

A smaller than usual group here today, and unfortunately lots of people are poorly with chest infections ☹️

But never the less we had a lovely afternoon. Lots of new faces playing darts with us here today.

Everybody was smiling & enjoying the afternoon.

Neville started off strong, as did Yvonne & Carole.
Bob, Jean, & Doreen showed lots of determination in trying to hit the board. They all struggled with limited movement in their elbows -
Therefore found it difficult. But they all tried really hard & did really well towards the end.
We spoke about it not being important about the score - but it’s all about the taking part and enjoying themselves 💪🏼☺️

Today’s winner was Carole 🏆

This morning Tara headed to the lovely Ruddington care home.

Always a room full of keen residents & staff here. Everybody loves to get Involved & we always have a really good time.

Today we had some cracking scores.
Peggy did well - as always.
Last times champion Val started off well. Jean was really consistent with hitting the 19s.
Shiela was really determined to learn how to throw them properly, Vera & John really enjoyed the darts too!

We also had a handful of residents playing on the Velcro board today too, Joyce, Darren, Paul & Audrey.
But we was having too much fun and forgot about the photos 📸

As always staff really love the darts here ! Millie & Tina battling between themselves to get the best score ! 🎯

But today’s winner was Vera 🏆
Vera was delighted to win & was asking when we are back again!
