On Wednesday afternoon it was over to George Hythe House where there is always a great turnout for the darts. We started with Kevin who loves us coming, and he would bring the banter to his fellow residents especially Sue who he would be setting the target for.

Sue would be vistorious though and claim the bragging rights after Kevin set her 76 to beat on her last visit to which Sue hit a 77 to claim the gold cup. Margaret would be our other winner on the Velcro board amassing a score of 168 👍🏻🎯

Our Wednesday started over in Derby at Derby Heights and we had a great session where the residents were also singing along to the radio in the background.

There were some really impressive scores for the residents and it would come down to regulars Arthur and Janice for the honours. It would be Arthur who led from round 2 and just hold on at the end to win the game which he was delighted with.

Another wonderful visit to Derby Heights where the residents asked when we would be returning.

On Tuesday afternoon we returned to Derbyshire House in East Leake. The residents were excited for our return and we had a number of residents ready and waiting for us.

It was a fun session where the residents would cheer, celebrate and support each other which was fantastic to see. It would come down to Beryl, Jean and Doris with the later taking the gold cup and Maureen would be victorious with the Velcro board.

On Monday afternoon it was off to Fosse Way View and the residents were pleasantly suprised by our visit.

It was great to have some gentlemen join us for this session as it is normally a “ladies club,” for our darts sessions here. Anne set the high score early on but Paul would soon show his skills hitting a 98 and followed it up with another big score to win the gold cup.

It would be Ginnie who would impress with the Velcro and win the second gold cup. Ginnie originally didn’t want to join because she struggles with her sight, however, when we explained about the Velcro board she wanted to get involved…. And get involved she did 🏆🏆🎯

What a great start to the week we have had. This morning we were off to Bradley Hall where we got the residents playing beat the score. Rita was encouraged to join us by her son for the first time playing darts.

Freida was first up and set the standard from the off. Janet then took the lead at the end of round one. Ern and Babs threw some great darts indicating they had played before. But today’s winner was Rita, who hit the bullseye with her last dart to win the game with over 220 points.

⭐️⭐️⭐️ RESIDENT OF THE WEEK⭐️⭐️⭐️
This weeks resident of the week is Yvonne from Lonsdale Mews Care Home. Yvonne shows great determination when it comes to the darts. Yvonne would struggle to get her darts to stay in the board when she first joined in her games but this week managed to do this independently. Yvonne is always thankful and grateful for the support from everyone.

This afternoon we had the short trip across the car park to Alder House Care Home - Avery Healthcare. Another great session this afternoon with testing the residents mathematics as well as their hand eye coordination.

Gordon took the lead from Sue after the second round but would soon be overtaken by Sue and eventual winner Olive. There were a number of treble 20s hit in the session including from Olive, Sue and staff members Ella and Mel. 👍🏻🙌🏻🎯

Deidre was ecstatic to have won the Velcro game and couldn’t hide her delight when presented with the gold cup.

Today we had a spare few minutes before hosting the darts at Alder House so why not have a game of rummy with the residents Olive and Gordon.
