Our first fitness session of the season is officially done! ☀️💪

What a brilliant way to kick things off—training together in the barn with the sunshine streaming in. A huge thank you to Stowie for leading such a fantastic session and getting everyone moving!

Final game of the season for the 1s🏑
The 1s wrapped up their campaign at home against North Somerset Gryphons in a game that truly had a bit of everything!
After a very quick warm-up, Bretforton came out strong and looked dangerous in attack from the first whistle. The pressure paid off early, with the opening goal coming within the first 10 minutes.
North Somerset Gryphons weren’t going down without a fight though, and kept the game competitive throughout. It was one of those matches that ticked every box—green card for Alice, a yellow for the opposition, and even a bully-off thrown in for good measure.
A foot in the circle led to a flick for the visitors, which they converted, contributing to a tightly contested scoreline. Bretforton battled hard right until the very end and even won a short corner on the final whistle, but couldn’t quite find the equaliser.

Final game of the season for 2s 🏑

The 2s wrapped up their campaign with a home match against Colwall & Malvern.

It was a tough start, with the visitors coming out strong and putting us under pressure early on. They found the net after just 3 minutes and added a second around the 20-minute mark. Despite this, we began to settle into the game and started to play some really good hockey.

After a frustrating disallowed goal, heads stayed up and the hard work paid off when Ness pulled one back before half time. 1–2 at the break, with everything still to play for.

The second half was end-to-end, full of energy and determination. Hannah S found the equaliser with a well-taken finish, bringing us right back into it. We created some great chances but just couldn’t quite find the winning goal.

A big shoutout to Fi L in goal, who earned Player of the Match for some outstanding saves that kept us in it.

Last match of the season for the 3s 🏑☀️

Bretforton 3s wrapped up the campaign with an away trip to Lansdown 5s on a beautiful sunny morning—perfect conditions for a great game of hockey.

It was a strong start, with both sides evenly matched and playing some great hockey. Bretforton created several promising chances in the first half and showed real attacking intent, but couldn’t quite find the breakthrough. 0–0 at half time, with everything still to play for.

Lansdown came out firing in the second half and grabbed an early goal. Shortly after, Bretforton were unlucky to lose a player to injury, leaving them temporarily down to 10. Lansdown took advantage and added a second.

Despite the setbacks, the team showed fantastic spirit and determination—something that’s defined the 3s all season. A great game played in the right spirit and a fitting way to end the campaign.
