Have you ever seen a Whinchat?

They are similar in shape & size to the closely related Stonechat, however the key differences to look out for are their heavily streaked backs and bold eye-stripe.

The Whinchat is a bird of the uplands, mostly being found throughout Wales, Scotland and the north of England where they breed in damp open habitats such as moorland, heathland, meadows, rough grassland or forest clearings.

The aptly named Small Blue is the smallest butterfly in the UK. Barely bigger than a fingernail, it can be tricky to find. One way to narrow your search is to look for Kidney Vetch, which is the sole foodplant of Small Blue caterpillars. Females lay their eggs on this plant, tucking each white egg down into the flower. Small Blues are one of the earlier butterflies to emerge, on the wing until the end of June.

The new Imagic HD X-wide offers something very different from a typical compact or mid-size binocular.

With a field of view 10% bigger than your usual full-size wide field binocular and a massive 44% bigger compared to a typical compact, they deliver more immersive views of the action at sports and recreational events, while travelling on holiday or out watching wildlife.

Experience a little bit of image magic this summer with the Imagic HD X-wide πŸͺ„

Unmistakable, Goldfinches are slim, delicate birds often found in parks and gardens as well as more rural locations in grassland and at field edges. Its bill shape makes it a seed specialist – they can often be seen tweezing seeds out of thistles and teasels.

There are more Goldfinches in the UK during the summer months, as many overwinter further south in Europe. These birds often travel in flocks and these are typically family groups, but they can be seen with other finch species too.
