North Star Cricket Club, Luton Soars into the Final!

A brilliant all-round performance saw North Star CC claim a convincing 6-wicket win over Anirban Cricket Club London in the Four Shire cricket league 2025 Semi-Final on 5 August.

After winning the toss and choosing to field, our bowlers set the tone early, bowling out Anirban CC for just 116 runs in 27.5 overs. The batters then calmly chased down the target, finishing on 117/4 in the 27th over to secure our spot in the final.

It was a complete team effort, with everyone stepping up when it mattered. We now head into the final full of belief and determination.

Result: North Star CC, Luton won by 6 wickets

North Star CC, Luton won the toss and chose to field first in their crucial league fixture against Sylhet Express CC.

The bowlers delivered right away. Reduan Ahmed removed both Sylhet Express openers early, finishing with figures of 2 for 27. MaHad AHmed stole the show with an outstanding spell of 4 for 5 in 4 overs. Imran Imon took 2 for 35 as Sylhet Express were restricted to 150 for 9 in 28 overs. Ghulam Rabbani Nahid (46 off 31) and Rezaul Karim (34 off 29) provided some resistance for Sylhet Express.

In response, North Star CC chased down the target with confidence. Zak Ali anchored the innings with 56 off 72 balls, supported by Islam Jahurul (44 off 52). Tauhidur Rahman added a quick 14 off 12 as North Star reached 152 for 4 in 29.3 overs.

Rakat Khan (2 for 33) and N Islam (1 for 15) were the only wicket-takers for Sylhet Express.

Player of the Match: Mahadul Haque for his brilliant bowling performance.

With this win, North Star CC, Luton have secured their place in the semi-finals of the 4 Shires Cricket League 2025.

Zahid Ali Khan was outstanding — finished unbeaten on 146 off 111 balls, setting the tone from the very first over.
Sujon added a quick 29, Imran chipped in with 17, and Mosh H held firm with 16. Solid support all round.

Cambridge Royals – 181 all out (29.5 overs)
They got off to a shaky start and never really recovered.
Rumman Hasan kept them alive with a fighting 73 not out, and Abrar Hosaain made 37 off just 21.

With the ball:
🎯 Foysol Rubel tore through their middle order with 4 for 42
🧤 Reduan Ahmed took 2
💪 Quazi Mobassher picked up 1 and kept things tight

A solid all-round performance from the boys as we chased down 187 with ease to take a well-earned win at home.

With the ball, Imran Talukdar was outstanding, grabbing 4 wickets in just 4 overs — and he didn’t stop there. As wicketkeeper, he took a brilliant catch to remove Boom Boom Mo Salar Amjad. Zahid Ali Khan backed it up with 3 key wickets and tight control. Malik Sadiq was miserly with the new ball, finishing with just 19 from 7 overs.

With the bat, Zahid Ali Khan led from the front once again, smashing an unbeaten 105 off 74 balls. Sujon Ahmed stayed solid at the other end with a classy 69* as they both saw the chase through without fuss. The only wicket to fall was a run-out (Shafi Uddin).

Special mention to Zahid Ali Khan — the clear Player of the Match for his hundred and 3 wickets. Top shift, skipper.
