Mistakes are part of learning. Repeating them is a choice.
In table tennis, everyone makes mistakes. Missing an easy ball, serving into the net, or choosing the wrong shot happens to every player. That's how we learn.
But if you keep making the same mistake after your coach has corrected you, it is no longer just a mistake. Repeat it once, and it's a decision. Repeat it, and it becomes a habit. Repeat it often enough, and it becomes part of your character as a player.
Champions don't become champions because they never make mistakes. They become champions because they identify their weaknesses, accept correction, and work relentlessly to eliminate them. The player who refuses to change will eventually become known for the very mistakes they refuse to fix.
Don't let your mistakes define you. Let your willingness to correct them define your future.

BUILDING CHAMPIONS AT THE TABLE
My Philosophy
Building a champion is about much more than teaching someone how to hit a table tennis ball. It is about developing the mindset, discipline, work ethic, and character needed to succeed, both in table tennis and in life. Every training session is an opportunity to improve. Every drill has a purpose. Every challenge is another step towards becoming a better player.
At Luton Table Tennis Club, we believe in mastering the fundamentals. A quality serve, a strong return, excellent footwork, the ability to open up, and the confidence to attack are the foundations of every successful player. Fancy shots don't win championships. Consistency, discipline, and doing the simple things exceptionally well do.
Champions understand that mistakes are part of the journey. They don't make excuses, blame others, or give up when things become difficult. They accept coaching, learn from every defeat, make the necessary adjustments, and come back stronger. Every setback is a lesson. Every lesson is an opportunity to grow.
We also believe that respect is non-negotiable—respect for the game, respect for your coach, respect for your teammates, respect for your opponents, and respect for yourself. Talent may get you noticed, but discipline, commitment, and relentless hard work are what build champions.
We don't just play table tennis. We build champions.

Akira's journey is proof that hard work and perseverance always pay off.
There was a time when she struggled to win matches. Today, she is not only winning matches—she is winning tournaments consistently. Every setback has made her stronger, and every defeat has become a lesson.
Her latest rankings reflect that progress. Akira has climbed five places to No. 14 in the Under-13 rankings and three places to No. 6 in the Under-12 rankings. At just 11 years of age, she is establishing herself as one of the country's top young players.
What impresses me most is the way she is winning. Her confidence, tactical awareness, and maturity continue to grow with every tournament. We know there is still plenty of work ahead, but we are moving in the right direction.
The journey is far from over. In many ways, it's only just beginning.

THE TOP FIVE – A HISTORIC MILESTONE
Some may say rankings and tournaments don't matter, but for these youngsters, they matter a great deal. Every tournament is a chance to improve, every ranking point has to be earned, and every step up the rankings is a reward for hard work and dedication.
For the very first time in our competitive history, Luton Table Tennis Club has a male player ranked in the top five of the England Under-13 boys rankings. That player is Christopher Darby.
Christopher has worked incredibly hard for this achievement. It has taken years of commitment, discipline, resilience, and the determination to keep improving, even when results didn't always go his way. This ranking is thoroughly deserved and is another important milestone on his journey.
We're incredibly proud of Christopher, but we know this is only the beginning. The future is bright.
