Both sides in County Cup action this weekend. 🏆

The 1s take a short journey through the forest this Saturday to face Bream Amateurs at The Lonk. With a draw on the road last week the boys will look for the win to advance into the next round of the cup. With both sides sitting on 9 points in the league it’s set to be a competitive one.

🔵⚫️
The 2s host Wickwar Wanderers down at Butts lane. The lads are on fire with 13 goals scored in the first 2 league games. Can they continue this great form in front of goal.

With the 1s taking the short trip to Huntley they knew they was in for a battle from the get go. A scrappy game and a slow first half, but we made sure we were within reach at the break going in a goal down. The lads picked up second half and another Bailey James penalty put the lads level. Unlucky not to get more from the game late on as they tired. Great effort from all 15 yesterday. A tough place to go but another point picked up on the road.

Brandon and Rohan were picked as MOTM. Well deserved.

The 2s faced lydbrook at Butts lane. The lads started quick with a Liam Proctor header. Carl Riley James made it 2-0. Lydbrook then went down to 10 men with a red card show for a hand ball. It was soon 3-0 with a Tom Hook bullet header. A Christian cox Hat Trick then followed to make it 6-0. To then top it of debutant Sam Evans pops up to make it 7-0.

🟡⚫️ WEEKEND FIXTURES 🔵⚫️

This weekend our 1s travel up to Huntley for game day 6 in the Northern Senior 2. This one is set to be a cracker. With only one point separating us this year and Huntley narrowly beat us to top spot last year in North Glos prem on goal difference. Congratulations on winning it gents. ⚽️

Our 2s host Lydbrook Athletic A down at the Butts in North Glos Div 2. The lads got off to a flyer last week scoring 5 and putting 3 points on the board. They will be looking to be ruthless again up top this week and adding another three points to their tally.

Come down and support the lads. We really appreciate it.

The 1s came out firing scoring within 20 seconds with a Sam Dowle goal. With 2 goals from Bailey James and a Sam Williams finish the boys went in at half time 4-1 up.

Frampton came out for the second half with some fresh legs and gave us all sort of problems. Pulling 3 goals back making it 4-4 with 15 to go. Kicking into gear a Kieran James goal put us 5-4 up. Under pressure with 10 to go Frampton found a way and made it 5-5.

A point away from home will go down nicely but gutted not to walk away with 3.

Best of luck for the season gents.

The reserve teams first game of the season turned out to be a cracker and a great effort from all 16 involved not just the starting 11. The game could of gone either way in the first 20 minutes. Player manager Carl James opened up the scoring to make it 1-0 then a Ronaldinho esque finish (v Chelsea) from Callum Parker made it 2-0. A decent team talk at halftime ensured the players 2-0 wasn't enough and to keep up the mentality from the first half,

Second half a free kick again from Carl James made it 3-0.

Milkwall got one back out of something and nothing but didn't worry the lads as Carl James raced through for his hat-trick followed 5 minutes later with a great finish from Christian Cox resulting in a 5-1 win

A great start to the season for the reserves and on to next week.

🔴⚫️THIS WEEKENDS FIXTURES 🔵⚫️

This Saturday our 1s travel to the other side of the river to face Frampton United Reserves for match day 5 of the Northen Senior League 2. Looking to get back on track after narrowly losing last time out.

The 2s start off their North Glos Div 2 campaign at home to Milkwall. Starting off pre-season with some good game time and narrowly missing out in progressing to the semi finals of the cup the boys go into this one full of confidence.

The Dug Out Cafe will be open from 2pm (Blakeney village hall) for all refreshments you need. 🍰🧋
