Last week I celebrated four years post surgery and four years cancer free! 🎉
There were a lot of things I wrote, or wanted to write, in the first few months after surgery that I never shared due to the fear of judgement or seeming too much. I came across this and felt it was worth sharing, not just because someone else may need to hear it, but because I needed reminding of it myself. I’m not sure I’ve managed to carry these thoughts with me these last few years, so I’m hoping that this reminder will help keep them in the front of my mind ❤️
🌸 You really are stronger than you think.
When s**t gets hard, really hard, somehow you keep going. Somehow you keep your head above water and the days pass until it gets easier again.
🌸 Don’t wait to chase your dreams, do it now!
We always put things off because we’re waiting for something. Something that will make us feel more secure so that we can make the leap and jump. Don’t wait. Jump now.
🌸 Tomorrow isn’t guaranteed.
Always true but so rarely thought about. Live for today because today is all you really have.
🌸 Nothing is easy but it’s all worth it.
If life was easy it wouldn’t be as fun. Embrace the tough times because it allows you to truly appreciate the good and if the journey is hard it makes the destination so much sweeter.
🌸 Love. Love hard
Love every person you are lucky enough to have in your life. We are not solitary creatures, we crave connection. The easiest thing to do when life gets tough is to hide away, but remember that you are surrounded by people who love you and want to see you win. With them the tough times feel a little easier.
Don’t let fear run your life.
Every choice you make is either made through love or fear. Feel the fear and choose love instead.
🌸 Don’t wear makeup everyday.
You are beautiful just as you are. Don’t cover it up.
🌸 Move your body! Use it or lose it!
If you are able to, move! Your body is capable of incredible things and it wants to be used! Walk, run, dance, work out, yoga, Pilates, swimming. Whatever it might be, just move.
🌸 Take nothing for granted.
Life is a gift. Live to your fullest because you never know what is around the corner.
