What is it about Ashtanga yoga that keeps us coming back to the mat? πΏ
For me, it's so much more than the physical practice.
Yes, Ashtanga builds strength, flexibility, balance and stamina. But over time, something else happens too.
The combination of breath, movement and focus gives us the opportunity to turn our attention inwards.
We move with the breath.
We notice what's happening in the body.
We notice the busy mind.
We learn when to challenge ourselves β and when to soften.
And slowly, the practice becomes a moving meditation.
You don't need to be able to touch your toes. You don't need to be super flexible. And you certainly don't need to have mastered the postures before you come along.
You simply need to arrive, breathe and practise. β€οΈ
My Wednesday morning Ashtanga class is a welcoming space to explore the practice at your own level.
