It can be really tough to carve out time for your own health and fitness journey when you're a parent.
But you matter too and your health is important!
You might have seen that has started offering children's passes.... so, in line with that, I'm now offering parent and child PT sessions! Childcare shouldn't be a barrier to fitness, and where possible, I'll always strive to make starting your fitness journey as easy as possible ππͺ

Today one of my clients said that she sometimes used my progress pictures to motivate herself and remember that it's possible π₯°πͺ
I'm just a normal person (with a sweet tooth and a terrible cook). So if I can do it, then you can too!
It's not glamorous. In fact, it's the complete opposite... it's a slog! But my god is it worth it for the experience of truely loving your body π
So yes it's possible... if you can commit to it..
**beware doing it too fast with ridiculously low calories and not enough rest. It'll wreck your hormones and work against you in the long run!

**starting young**
This week I trained my youngest client (6 years old) alongside her mum as part of the kids pass.
It was such a positive experience to be part of Bella's gym journey and to play my part in making the gym a fun, friendly and welcoming environment for young women π₯°π
We did a mixture of machine and functional based movements, added bits of speed and cardio work to keep it fun and focused on the effort she put in, not the weight she lifted.
It was all about being strong πͺ and it was AMAZING!

When your client pushes so hard, her legs give up the ghost at the end of your session π€£π
This was a great first session. Great base strength, good form, nice and balanced. And to top it off, the gym was dead as the football was on π

Sometimes we're so cruel to ourselves and about ourselves we can be our own worst enemy. Being compassionate with yourselves and giving yourself some grace can be a really healthy first step in learning to love your body π

To me, being a PT isn't just about the hour we spent together training. It's about making the gym and exercise more accessible and breaking down those barriers that stop people from making the leap.
Sometimes, that's helping clients to work the equipment, making programs, and working on ex*****on of a movement. Other times, it's about getting people used to the space and building confidence in the environment.
I'm so incredibly proud of this lovely client.... in the gym, on her own, smashing it πͺ π

One of the things that helped me get a better perspective on my body was getting lean....
Now hear me out...
Before getting stage lean, i thought that:
π I wasn't trying hard enough to have the figure I wanted
π dieting had to be brutal. "No pain, no gain," right?
π that there are women out there without rolls, and I should be ashamed of mine
But actually, what I learnt was:
π slow and steady really does win the race - consistency does a world of good
π dieting doesn't have to be brutal, and you can do it without extreme hunger
π even at stage lean, I had rolls.
Those lessons were HUGE and have made me more accepting of myself.
Now, when I sit down, I don't suck my stomach in. And it's bloody liberating ππ
You don't have to get stupidly lean to lean those lessons. You just need to see more people in their natural state. Un-posed and unfiltered.
You might be nervous about going to the gym, but the one thing it will do outside of helping with physical health, is give you the opportunity to see a range of body shapes with all their beautiful normal-ness.... cellulite and rolls included π
I'm pretty sure that even Angelina Jolie has tummy rolls when she sits down!

Honestly, doesn't life just move far too fast?! How is it April already?! This month has been one hell of a year π€¦π»ββοΈ
Horses, toddlers, PTing, intolerance tests, and generally trying to stay alive, its been a lot! But with summer coming. I'm feeling the positive feels!
So keep your eyes peeled for a bit of a change coming....

Finally gave in to scrunch bum leggings, and OH MY π³ my bum looked huge π

I'm a bit squishy after not prioritising training for a few months, but I'm looking forward to getting back a bit of consistency with the longer days π
