I feel so lucky to help people of all ages move better and feel stronger. 💪

So many people believe that once they reach a certain age — or if they’ve never exercised before — it’s too late to start. But that couldn’t be further from the truth.

This lovely lady is over 65 and never considered herself to be “athletic” which held her back from being active for years. She also just didn’t know where to start.

Since we began training, she’s made incredible progress:
✅ Tying her shoes with ease
✅ Chasing after and carrying her grandkids
✅ Keeping up with friends on long walks
✅ And yes… she can even hold a plank longer than me now🫣!

These might seem like small things, but for us, they’re huge wins — and they’ve completely changed her quality of life.

Strength, fitness, and confidence are for everyone, at any age.

If you know someone 60+ in the Lytham area who needs support or a place to start with increasing their physical activity levels — send them this post. 🤍

On the 4th February 2021, I sent a voice note to my friend feeling lost and unsure asking for advice. I’d qualified as a personal trainer but had no clue what my next step to setting up was.

Gyms were still closed at this point due to lockdown and a big part of me wanted to wait until the gym I was working at had reopened.

My friend encouraged me to get started because I could offer something to people’s lives that will help them feel better in a tricky time and it would help me build up my experience ready for when the gyms opened.

I immediately contacted all my family and friends and offered a free trial session followed by TEN 30 minute zoom sessions for £40😵‍💫…

On the 9th of February 2021, I had just 2 free sessions booked in, then nothing until 1st March 2021. I had persevered (or pestered🫣) so much that I booked in around 20 sessions for that week.

Little did I know, taking that leap and starting with something that felt achievable for me, would evolve into the business I have today.

Because of this, I will be forever grateful to my friends and family for helping to get my name out there so I could continue to help more people.

This extends to my clients (past and present) for trusting in me to help you. You are what make up my business and allow me to do a job I love and I am grateful for you all everyday.

I love reflecting back on how things started and the journey I’ve been on. It’s a reminder that to get what you want in life, sometimes you just have to take the leap (even when it seems completely overwhelming).

Cheers to 4 years🥂❤️.

When Vicky first started with me, she told me she had done extensive research on local trainers as it was important the trainer she chose was the right fit.

It made me reflect on what I would look for in a trainer. I would want a trainer who:
1. Understands how my body works/moves
2. Knows where my limitations are
3. Can get the best out of me around those limitations
4. Cares about my health just as much as they do their own.

I often question if I’m doing enough for my clients, but I can wholeheartedly say I have those qualities as a trainer.

My goal is to turn up to every session with each client and provide the best service I can. I want to see them feeling and doing their best.

Thank you to Vicky for being such a delight to train and for allowing me to be a part of your journey🥰.

3 years of Amy Sorah Fitness🥂

Reflecting on the last year, it’s definitely been the most challenging yet rewarding phase of my business journey (reaching burnout and ending up in hospital was my favourite part😋)…

However, among the challenges, the one thing that has remained constant is the dedication and support from my clients-turned-friends.

Running a business is never easy but seeing the difference I can make to my clients physical and mental health is what fuels my passion and keeps me going.

Thank you to every person who has allowed me to be a part of their journey in the last 3 years as you continue to inspire mine❤️.

When Liz joined me in July 2022, her main goal was to improve speed in running.

Since then, we have focused on functional movements to help build strength, not only for running but in her busy life with young children.

Liz has attended a 1-1 religiously once a week, every week for just over a year. This has helped with steady and sustainable progress without too much pressure on the already busy mum!

Amazingly, in April Liz ran Paris marathon and set a PB of 3 hours 57 minutes which knocked a whole 65 minutes off her previous record🤩- what an achievement!

Weight loss has never been the focus of our sessions. It has just become the byproduct of her consistency and focused training in and out of sessions with me.

Well done Liz👏🤍.

2 Years of Amy Sorah Fitness🥂

Yesterday, we turned two!

I’ve been delaying writing this post as it’s a struggle to articulate how grateful I am and how much it means to me to reach another milestone…

On Sunday I hosted a little celebration for my clients. We had a small get together at the studio followed by a walk + coffee in the beautiful sunshine. It was so lovely to get my clients together and have them meet each other for the first time (although not everyone could make it☹️).

My clients are what make up my business. Without them, I can’t do what I love doing. This is why the celebration was not only for me, but for the community of people that are ASF; a genuine, dedicated and all round amazing group.

So without writing millions of paragraphs, I’d like to say a massive thank you to every person who’s been a part of my journey in the last two years. You have no idea how much it means to me (unless you were my clients that saw me crying on Sunday😅).

I look forward to learning, adapting and growing with you all through this year and all years to come🤍.

We all have many reasons/motivations for doing things in life.

A personal motivation is doing things that I enjoy and make me feel good.
Here’s some of the things that make me feel good:
Helping others
Going on adventures/ exploring new places Spending time with friends and family
Eating tasty+ nutritious foods
Being productive
EXERCISE!

Many of us are constantly putting others needs above our own and thinking last about ourselves, which is not a bad quality to have. But sometimes, we can forget about our own needs and what we enjoy in the process.

Last week I felt overwhelmed (something most people will have experienced) and one of the main things that got me through was putting my health first where I could. I focused on exercising, eating nutritious foods and sleep… 3 basic needs that can also feel too much when stressed or overwhelmed.

For some people, the thought of exercise can add to those feelings and be the last thing on the list. I like to think this is something I can help with🥰.

I take the thought out of exercising… my clients turn up, have a session planned to their exact goals and needs without putting a second of thought into anything other than arriving on time (and remembering their water😀). Then leave with the release of happy hormones floating around🙌.

The bottom line is, when things get too much, focus on the basics and the things that will never fail to make you feel good🤍.

P.s. the pictures are from a lovely adventure with my friends this weekend🫶.

I always comment on how much I love feedback from my clients as it helps me learn, grow and provide a better service for you all.

But receiving feedback from a family member who is observing the journey… I can’t quite explain how that feels!🥰

Whenever a new client comes on board, I like to gather as much information as possible as it’s so important that I get it right for each individual.

So when Becky reached out to me about Guy, I had to be sure I could help him. Becky told me before our consultation that if Guy looks at me, we’re onto a winner… which is exactly what happened😁!

From that day forwards, I’ve not only been working with Guy to build up his strength and fitness, but to build his trust in me, his confidence when being around others and really to find different ways of getting him enjoying day to day life🥳. (I’ve attached some pictures of a couple of different activities we’ve done outside of our gym work).

I love my sessions with Guy and feel very lucky that I get to help him on his journey.🫶

👏Client update👏

When Jaimie first joined me back in March 2022, she told me how she would like to feel fitter and stronger. But her main focus was her stomach/ waist as she was most conscious of this area after having 3 children.

Jaimie trains with me twice a week and has recently started going to the gym now she feels more confident in her form when doing exercises🙌.

The before pictures are from May 2022 and the after pictures from January 2023. She has made an incredible amount of progress (and is looking amazing😍)… not only can we see this from the pictures but Jaimie is constantly pushing to set new targets with her strength training AND reaching them👏!

Our journey is ongoing and I can’t wait to keep building her confidence, strength and fitness levels🤍
