Fairhaven members were honoured to support our neighbours, Royal Lytham & St Anne’s, in staging the 2026 AIG Women’s Open – the Championship’s 50th edition.
With more than 85 members volunteering and working across a wide range of roles, a small but meaningful contribution to the success of this year’s Championship was made. Thank you to everyone who gave their time, enthusiasm and expertise throughout.
We’d love to hear from volunteers and spectators of all generations. Whatever your role, please share your favourite memories and photos in the comments below.
We look forward to welcoming the golfing world back to the Fylde Coast in 2028 for the 156th Championship! ⛳

Congratulations, Jamie Van Wyk!
Everyone at Fairhaven is delighted to hear of Jamie’s success in this year’s English Amateur Championship. In doing so, he becomes the first member of Royal Lytham & St Anne’s to win the national championship since 1968.
As a popular friend of Fairhaven, we’re sure our members will join us in congratulating Jamie on this outstanding achievement. Well played, Jamie!

Our friend and colleague, Jamie Van Wyk, secured his place in this year’s English Amateur Championship Final with an emphatic finish to his semi-final match.
Tomorrow, he will take on Morton Bailey, another familiar face at Fairhaven having competed in the 2023 & 2024 Fairhaven Trophies.
The Championship Match will commence at 8.30 at Beau Desert.
Good luck, Jamie!

Junior representatives from across the Fylde Golf Club came together yesterday for an occasion like no other…
An exhibition with none other than Dame Laura Davies.
Arguably England’s greatest ever female golfer, with a career that has seen her claim seven LET Order of Merits, four major championships, and going on to represent Europe on twelve occasions in the Solheim Cup, Laura’s generosity with time and passion for the game of golf was simply awe inspiring.
The group were treated to a full day of coaching, starting at Lytham Golf Academy followed by a short game clinic with Dame Laura at Lytham Green Drive, before taking to the course to enjoy a fun scramble.
An opportunity like this doesn’t exist without the vision of many, and our thanks go to Dan Webster, Lytham Green Drive, and all of the volunteers who so passionately dedicate their time to supporting Junior Golf in the Fylde.
A lifetime memory for our next generation… ⛳️

Different Events, Different Outcomes ⛳
Sunday saw the annual staging of the “Fairlinks” match, an event held to celebrate the rich friendship between our Club and our neighbours at St Anne’s Old Links.
Whilst it was St Anne’s Old Links who claimed victory this year, we are grateful for their friendship and the warm hospitality extended during the match 🫱🏻🫲🏽
Away from St Anne’s Old Links, member Lee Williams blitzed to victory in the De Frece Trophy held at Blackpool North Shore, another of our golfing friends on the Fylde coast.
With scores of 68 and 68 for a total gross score of six under par, it certainly was a day to remember 🏌🏼♂️
Congratulations, Lee 👏🏼🏆
