73k later and she’s DONE IT! πŸ˜±πŸ‘πŸΌπŸ’ͺ🏼
Dani has completed Lake Geneva in an incredible 21 hours 28 minutes! 🀯 The fastest recorded crossing they have ever had!!!!

Can everyone just take a moment to appreciate how absolutely INSANE that is?! 😱

As a club we are so proud of Dani, especially knowing how much hard work, training and dedication she has put into this. What an incredible achievement! πŸ‘πŸΌ

So… what on earth could possibly be next?! πŸ˜‚

A huge good luck and well done so far to our fabulous poolside helper, Dani! πŸ’™πŸŠπŸΌβ€β™€οΈ
Today, Dani is taking on the incredible challenge (take two!) of swimming the full length of Lac Léman, an astonishing 72km! 😱

With St Anne's closing in April, Dani has had to adapt her training, travelling between multiple pools while balancing everyday life. Despite all the challenges and adversity, she's made it to the start line today and is absolutely smashing it so far!

As a club, we couldn't be prouder of her determination, resilience, and commitment. She might be a little bit bonkers, but she's doing it all for an incredible cause and taking on an amazing challenge.

We're all behind you, Dani, good luck, keep going, and enjoy every minute of it! πŸ’™πŸŠπŸΌβ€β™€οΈπŸ’ͺ

Update regarding St Anne’s Pool…. Obviously very disappointing news, knowing that there is no provision in the Fylde until potentially 2028. For further info please see the club email that has been sent out.

Securing the Future of St Annes Swimming Pool & Gym Ahead of Local Government Reorganisation 🏊

We know how important St Annes Swimming Pool & Gym is to our community.

When Places Leisure took over as an agent for Fylde Council in April, essential maintenance work began. However, as detailed surveys and investigations were undertaken to inform the planned programme of works, additional issues requiring immediate remediation were identified.

As a result, the works are more extensive than originally expected, meaning the building will need to remain closed for an extended period while they are completed.

Rather than short-term fixes that could lead to repeated closures and cause further issues, we're moving straight into a full refurbishment – delivering a modern leisure destination with a refurbished pool, first-floor gym overlooking the sea, new studio, spa facilities, indoor splash pad, upgraded changing rooms and a cafΓ©.

With Local Government Reorganisation on the horizon, pressing ahead now secures this investment while decisions remain in local hands.

We will continue to work closely with Places Leisure to finalise the programme and will keep residents updated with insights and sneak previews as work progresses of the superb facility coming to St Annes.

Work on Kirkham Baths will not be affected by this programme - the two refurbishments are running concurrently. For the latest updates on both projects, visit https://new.fylde.gov.uk/swimming-in-fylde/

Very positive news! Let’s hope this promise can be delivered!

🏊 Progress on re-opening Kirkham BathsπŸ’ͺ

The initial works are now done.

That includes the internal scaffolding, asbestos removal, strip-out, and inspections needed to properly understand the building condition.

It is not the flashy part of the project, but it is the part that has to happen first.

This is an old building, so it needs to be done properly. The next step is getting the design right for a modern pool, gym and changing facilities, while keeping the character that makes Kirkham Baths special.

The plan is for the main building work to start next year, with the aim of reopening in 2028.

I am so please the first stage has been completed, onwards and upwards βœ…

Hi all,

We have just been informed by the Micro League Committee that tomorrow's final Micro League fixture has been cancelled. This applies to all teams and divisions.

The message sent out by the committee is below:

Unfortunately, there is an issue at Palatine Leisure Centre with the pool testing, meaning that tomorrow's Micro League gala cannot go ahead.

We apologise for the short notice, but we wanted to be certain this morning that the event could not go ahead before issuing any communications.

Over the next few days, we will look to identify an alternative date and venue, aiming for September due to clubs other commitments between now and the end of the season. We will communicate an update as soon as possible.

Well done to our 2 Swimmers of the Month for May!🀩

Boys - Henry
Henry's confidence has improved significantly since joining the club, and he bravely took part in his first Micro League gala in May. He continues to make great progress in both his technique and stamina. Henry is always willing to listen, take on feedback, and work hard to improve, which is reflected in the progress he is making in the pool πŸŠπŸΌβ€β™‚οΈπŸŠπŸΌβ€β™‚οΈ

Girls - Catherine
Catherine always arrives at training with a smile on her face, brings a positive attitude to every session. She listens carefully to coaches' instructions and has made fantastic progress and continues to improve week after weekπŸŠπŸΌβ€β™€οΈπŸŠπŸΌβ€β™€οΈ

Well done guys πŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌ
