Bank Holiday Monday bar open
https://www.pinkneysgreencc.com/news/bank-holiday-monday-bar-open-2919810.html
Many of you will have known local cricketer Johnny "Brusher" Burnett who sadly died recently. Although he played for Boyne Hill CC he was a great friend of the club and was a regular guest at our President's Days (seen below seated on the far right of the front row in 2000).
His son Christian has asked me to pass onto you all details of his father's funeral. It will take place on Monday 3rd March at 3pm at Green Acres Beaconsfield and will be followed by a celebration of his life at Boyne Hill CC from 4:30pm. All welcome.
RIP Trevor Gough
Pinkneys Green Cricket Club was saddened this week to learn of the passing of former wicket keeper batsman Trevor Gough.
Trevor was a key member of the all conquering 70s team, winning the Julian Cup in 1977 as well as enjoying success in the National Village Cup and East Berkshire League. A fearsome opponent behind the stumps, Trevor was also a combative middle order bat.
His job took him to Ireland in the 1980s to work for horse racing trainer Vincent O'Brien but his annual return to the Green for President's Day was eagerly anticipated by his many friends at the club, and he went onto serve a spell as club president.
Pinkneys Green CC sends its sincere condolences to all Trevor's family and friends at this sad time.
RIP Ginge.
A lovely ceremony was held at the Green this morning in memory of our late groundsman Paul "Ginger" Savage.
The rain stopped for us at 11.30 so that club President Kevin Snapes could scatter Ginge's ashes as his family and friends looked on.
In memory of Ginge, the new net that has been recently installed will be named after him. A plaque will be put up before the start of next season.
