🏆Congratulations to our member of the month Jasmin who has won a £50 Amazon voucher!
💜Quote from Jasmin: “I first started training in 2018 – my dad loved lifting weights (when I was a kid, I used to go to the gym with him and read books while he benched) and he suggested I train with him after I said I was struggling with my confidence. I think it's one of the best things that could have happened to me, and I've been lifting ever since!
Back then I didn't think I'd ever be able to do a push up and found it hard to squat the bar, and now I can do push ups, pull ups, squat more than I weigh and lots of other things I never imagined! I think training has had a positive impact on my life more broadly – especially around the importance of showing up for yourself, pushing past discomfort and not getting too knocked by setbacks.
🫡Well done from the Anytime Fitness Maidenhead Team

Congratulations to our member of the month Craig who has won a £50 Amazon voucher!
Quote from Craig: “I’ve learned a few things about lifting and fitness in general, mostly because I started lifting when dinosaurs roamed the earth. So, if you have any questions, just come and ask – always happy to help. Here are the few things:
🔥 It really is a marathon. Decades, in fact.
🔥 The only progression that really counts is heavier weight over time.
🔥 Effort per set is the best predictor of progression.
🔥 Exercise form is the best predictor of not getting injured.
🔥 Look after your joints, your spine, and all the little supporting muscles.
🔥 Nutrition is important, sleep is important, but the training is by far the most important. And do cardio!
🔥 You can in fact do it lifetime natural.
🔥 You don’t lift just to look good – you *get* come to the gym and lift heavy stuff! It's pretty cool. The process is the reward.
Well done from the Anytime Fitness Maidenhead Team
Pulldown Variations – Which One Do You Use? 🤔
1️⃣ Upper Back Biased Pulldown – Elbows, targets upper traps & rear delts. You’ll typically need to be more leant back to perform this variation 💪
2️⃣ Lat-Biased Pulldown – Lean slightly back, drive elbows to hips, keep arms from crossing midline. You’ll need to be more upright for this variation
3️⃣ Full Stretch “Old
School” Pulldown – Full overhead stretch, scapulas raised, then pull elbows behind. Using this kind of range motion makes it a very useful “overall” back builder.
As with all movement there is a spectrum and there going to be slightly different ways for everyone to perform these variations.
Try them all & feel the difference! Which is your go-to? 👇

GUIDE TO BETTER LEG EXTENSIONS ⬇️
tips to get the most out of our leg extension machine…
💥 Align your knee joint with the pivot point (axis) of the machine
You can do this by adjusting the back rest.
💥 Adjust the shin pad. This can sit anywhere between mid-shin to above the ankle
This totally depends on comfort.
💥 Adjust the axis so that your heels end up behind the seat of the machine
You should feel a slight stretch in your quads. This will increase range of motion thus lead to better gains.
💥 Point your toes slightly upwardsThe slight stretch in the calf muscles will stabilise your knee joint through all quad based motions.
💥 Lean back and pull yourself tight into the machineThis will lead to an increased stretch in the quads therefore lead to more potential muscle growth.
🏆Congratulations to our member of the month Leah who has won a £50 Amazon voucher!
💜Quote from Leah: “I started training 5 years ago. The gym has always been therapy for me, whenever there is an issue, the gym will sort it! Especially at Anytime Fitness I have felt the most at home. Throughout my journey my weight has fluctuated hugely due to problematic eating habits and little structure to my training, 6 Months ago I decided I’d had enough of being overweight, unhappy and the unhealthiest I had ever been, so I took actions into my own hands and since I have lost 20kg and My self-confidence has skyrocketed!
💜I believe If you put your mind to something it can always be achieved, no matter how hard.
💜My goals for the rest of the year are to continue looking after myself and hopefully achieve my first pull-up!
Well done from the Anytime Fitness Maidenhead Team
