Congratulations to all our students who took and passed their gradings yesterday. A special mention must go to Dave and Maggie who both achieved their 1st Dan black belts after 15 and 13 years of training. A wonderful and special achievement.

Practicing kicks in our Saturday family class.

Recent star of the week certificates and medals for our young dragons. Always good to recognise and reward achievements, dedication and progression.

Well done to the juniors and dragons who took and passed their gradings today. A hot day but determination and plenty of water breaks got everyone safely through.

Well done to all our students who took and passed their grading today. You’ve worked hard and we’re delighted to recognise and celebrate your achievements.

Please note Tuesday classes from the 17th May to 28th June (7 weeks) will be at Boyn Hill Baptist Church as Cox Green Leisure centre is not available on those dates. Times will remain the same.

A star of the week certificate for one student and a medal for another for getting four previously. We love to recognise and reward our young students efforts.

Great way to end the year joining our friends from Genesis Martial Arts for a last training session and a friendly competition. Well done to Genesis on their win for the dragons and to our team for a very exciting and narrow victory in the juniors and teens. Merry Christmas and a happy new year to everyone.

Goodbye 2021. Looking forward to 2022. It’s been the second tough year in a row across the world with much sadness but in all that we’ve still tried to keep fit, learn skills, recognise and reward progress and have fun together whenever possible. Well done to our students and their families on just being you. Enjoy the break and see you soon.

Delighted to award these great students their student of the year awards for 2021. They’ve all been brilliant this year, working hard and demonstrating fantastic skills.

We are looking forwards to our temporary Tuesday evening home at Boyn Hill Baptist Church (100 Westborough Rd, Maidenhead SL6 4AT) starting tonight and for the the next four weeks. Classes will be running at the normal times: 5pm, 5:50pm and 6:40pm. Parking is limited as the church has no parking of it's own and is on a residential road, so allow a little extra time if coming by car.

A great session again today with our super dragons. A star of the week for one and a medal for another for four previous star of the weeks.

Well done to all our students who passed their gradings on Sunday. You’ve worked hard, learnt some good skills and are deserving of your new belts. Well done.

Our super dragons and juniors. Grading day soon for many of these youngsters. We look forward to recognising your hard work and achievements.

When a student does well in class we might give them a star of the week certificate. Four certificates means a medal. Well done to this young man who’s been really been focussed these last few months and received this medal a few weeks ago.

She joined us four years ago on the first day we opened and has been training with us ever since. Now university beckons and we must say good bye. A trophy presentation in class and a meal out with some friends seems a fitting way to say well done and thank for your time with us. We wish you all the best in your studies and hope to see you again soon.

Working in close tonight with the adults. Put your foot in the hoop, try not to back off and see what you can do.

A little bit of summer fun. We called this the three legged front kick.

Well done to all our students - little dragons, juniors, teens and adults, who took and passed their gradings today in the heat of summer. From beginners taking their first belt to those who are now only one away from black they know they all earned and deserved their new grade. I’m so proud of them and the effort they put in. Our gradings are hard and demanding both technically and physically so well done to those who had the determination to push through today and get the recognition they deserve.

It may seem a bit chaotic but it was very popular with the children and provided the practice of coordination skills. Learning is most effective when enjoyable.

That’s some good flexibility.

Practicing pad work routines for the next belt. These guys want to grade and they're training hard for it.

Kids classes all back in action. Teens, juniors and dragons. Loving it all starting up again. Some of these guys are looking good and could be grading again soon.

So more enjoyable with others. We love being back together. Fitness, flexibility and fighting skills. All in an atmosphere of family, friendship and fun. That’s our F-Plan.

Everyone welcome, all ages and abilities.

Great to be back, great to have new students and great to be handing out certificates. Well done to all the heroes who’ve stuck with it over the last year.

Interesting conversation with this youngster during training

Student: Can you get student of the year two years in a row?
Me: Perhaps it would be nice for somebody else to win this year

Student: I’m getting my black belt this year.
Me: Its a black stripe belt but still something to be proud of. Train hard and you might get an adult black belt when you’re older.

Student: I could beat you in a fight if you weren’t so much bigger than me.
Me. Yep. I’ll stop sparring with you when you get bigger.

A new clock for the hall and three bottles of sanitising gel.

We will be back. Wishing the vaccination programme and lockdown the best of success in beating the virus.

Keep safe, keep training (1:2:1s in the park available if you want) and we’ll see you as soon as we can.

Lockdown won’t stop us. Solo training, social distance, outside. Following the rules- living the dream. Heros on parade.

Photos from Exodus Martial Arts's post 15/01/2021

We're missing the classes but enjoying the 1:2:1s in the park. Keep safe everyone. We'll all be back together soon I hope.

I hope everyone is keeping safe in this latest lockdown.

Sadly no live classes atm but 1:2:1 sessions in the park are available. It's within the rules to exercise outside with one other person (e.g. a coach / instructor provided you socially distance).

So if you're brave enough, face the cold (don't worry you soon warm up) and keep fit, practice your syllabus, your techniques and your shadow sparring amongst other things. Lots of things may have stopped for a while, but your path to becoming a legend continues.

Hi all.

I’m sure you’re all aware of the national lockdown starting on Thursday for four weeks. Sadly that means we will have to close during that period and will also have to postpone the upcoming November grading.

We will go ahead this Tuesday, 3rd November, so do get that session in, if you can.

Hopefully we can recommence in December, subject to the government regulation. I’m sure you're all frustrated as are we.

Please continue to train at home practicing your syllabus ready for when we are able to reschedule the grading. There's plenty of new techniques and routines to learn and perfect. Don't forget to stretch and work on your fitness as well.

If you are a member and would like a syllabus sheet please contact us and we will send one to you.

Stay safe, from all of us at Exodus Martial Arts

Sometimes you need to move in rather than back away. Always easier in drills of course.
