10 Disturbing Myths About Karate Everyone Thinks Are True

10 Disturbing Myths About Karate Everyone Thinks Are True 1: โ€œKarate people break bricks every day.โ€ Weโ€™ve all heard it. โ€œSoโ€ฆ how many boards can you break?โ€ In Japanese, the skill of breaking bricks and boards is called โ€œtameshiwariโ€. But few of us do it on a regular basis. In fact, some Karate dojos never incorporate tameshiwari at all. W...

A Life-Changing Karate Experience | Jesse Enkamp

Kids and adults classes are now back on as normal, looking forward to another great year of training. If friends/family may be interested in training please invite them down, tag them in this post/message me directly. We are happy to help everyone reach their full potential through training in a fun and friendly environment with lots of support from everyone in the community ๐Ÿ˜€

Start of a new year can be slow as we can still be in christmas mode. Main thing is we have to find motivation from somewhere as we all have resolutions that we make but most fail to achieve due to a lack of motivation. The best place to get that is from people who have it already, friends/family, sometimes taking a leap of faith into something new can be the best thing you ever do. Just keep reminding yourself why you want to do that thing, and start as soon as you can! Before you know it, when we use the excuse 'will start next week' continues onto the next week after that and the next until one day you realise months have past and your no closer to anything than you you wanted to be. Surround yourself with good like minded people to motivate, inspire and challenge you and you will achieve the things you want ๐Ÿ˜‰

The old masters said: โ€œKarate is kata and kata is Karateโ€. ๐Ÿ‘Š So what exactly is the purpose of kata? ๐Ÿค” Contrary to popular belief, kata was never meant to teach you anything. Rather, it was a solo reenactment of the defensive themes you should ALREADY have learned with a partner (โ€˜mnemonicโ€™ tool). ๐Ÿ’ก Unfortunately, this knowledge was lost in the sands of time... โณ What remains is a collection of highly abstract movement patterns resembling high-intensity calisthenics rather than the pragmatic fighting art it was originally meant to represent. ๐Ÿ’ช As the saying goes - weโ€™ve put the cart before the horse! ๐Ÿ˜‚

The Training Matrix ... Again!

Another awesome video

Hi all, apologies if ive made your phone go mad with notifications ๐Ÿ˜‚
Ive been uploading some videos of kata to help the students practice at home, wanted to have this done before they break up for summer holidays.
Ive also put them in the members section of the website, you can also download the syllabus there aswell.

People come for training. ๐Ÿ’ฆ

But they stay for community. ๐Ÿ™Œ

The sense of belonging and contributing to a collective purpose is what motivates the successful martial artist. ๐Ÿ‘Š

Because, without a supportive community, your journey wonโ€™t last long... โ˜น๏ธ

Team work makes the dream work! ๐Ÿ’ช

We were playing around with the super slow mo camera on the phone today. I think we will be having some fun with this function again in the future ๐Ÿ˜Š

Why Modern Karate Is Broken (& How You Can Fix It)

Awesome read ๐Ÿ˜‰

Why Modern Karate Is Broken (& How You Can Fix It) July, 1920. World War I is officially over. Japanโ€™s economic bubble is exploding.
