🇬🇧 Platinum Jubilee celebrations today on the green! 🇬🇧
Unfortunately for us we were beaten today on 3 rinks to 1 in the ladies county top club quarter finals by Suttons. Congratulations and best of luck to them in the next round.
We did it! Won on all 4 rinks vs Burghfield - through to the quarter finals! Well done girls 🥳
Green cut today in the sunshine, Mr Stuart beavering away in the background. Looking forward to welcoming you all back to the club soon, help needed soon to get us ready for the season, we’ll be in touch…😀😀. Stay safe, see you all very soon.
Cut in the sunshine today, inviting?
Please note that the last day on the green this year will be Tuesday 21st September, the contractor will be performing the autumn treatment on Wednesday 22nd. Six days left, make the most of it!
Congratulations to our winners from the first day of finals weekend yesterday! 🏆 Good luck to today’s finalists!
Good afternoon all, hope you are keeping well and safe, and looking forward to a ‘proper’ bowling season next year. Vaccines permitting, we seem to have at least half a chance of something closer to normal come May, fingers crossed!
Since the end of our unusual season this year, we have been doing a few jobs to improve facilities ready for next season. First, the row of lockers under the honours board in the hall have been replaced by new, much needed storage cupboards with a nice oak worktop to match the honours board. Hope you like them.
Second, the paving in the patio area is now complete, giving us about 60 square meters of entertaining space ready for the first bbq of the season. Just need somewhere to sit now......
Hope to see you all soon.
Anyone for a roll up?
Blue’s all gone ladies......anyone got some nice pictures..?😃
Seasons Greetings from all on the club committee.Hope you all stay well and safe over Christmas and New Year, and hope to see you all back at the club in the Spring.
Merry Christmas !!! 🥳🥳
Just a hint as to what next season’s ‘smart casual’ dress code might mean...🥴
Great result for Berkshire!!
How is everyone enjoying this season? We hope to see you all for finals weekend on Friday 6th and Sunday 8th September! The bar and catering will be in full flow and hopefully some ☀️ good luck to all our competitors and well done to all who were successful with this years county and national competitions.

Meghan Markle factor to cause surge in lawn bowls popularity -’Could help make a champion’ MEGHAN MARKLE has taken a keen interest in lawn bowls, a sport that is usually stereotyped as one for older people. But the recent publicity as a result of the Duchess’s comments could be what bowls needs to break down the prejudice against it.
Why not join us next Saturday? We had a great day last year, should be fun, so come along and give it a go!
Fancy auditioning for this new show...? Go on...!
Just to whet your appetite for the new season.
Looking forward to seeing you all when the new season starts, won’t be too long now!
Great day today with our friends old and new from Essex and Wiltshire. Fixture held at Town now for many years, and judging by the compliments on the green, surrounds, hospitality and especially the food.....they’ll be back again for years to come. Well done everyone who helped out, too many to name, sufficient to say we pulled the stops out for them and it was very much appreciated.
They ate all the pies....!!!
Maidenhead Town Bowls Club updated their address.
Congratulations to all our members involved in competitions during this finals weekend, especially our club champions Jan Mayne and Tim Eales. Also well done to the women’s top club team who are through to the final which is being played on the 8th Sept at Sutton’s BC. 🏆🏆🏆
Congratulations to Mary Mackay and Kim Eales who competed in the ladies county bowls finals day yesterday. Mary won champion of champions singles and was runner up in the singles and Kim won the secretaries and delegates singles.
Then today the mixed double 4’s beat Thatcham in the semi finals but lost to Suttons in the final. Congratulations to all involved.
A great weekend for MTBC!
A panorama photo of the MTBC fun day on Wednesday evening. Did everyone enjoy themselves?
Hope those of you attending the curry night had a good time, and a nice meal. I thought the atmosphere was terrific, lots of smiles, lots of chat, great to see the club busy.
However, I have an apology to make. My after dinner “speech” was rather underwhelming, my only defence is that I had been on my feet for virtually two days solid, I was pretty knackered.
So let me put that right with a few thanks. An event like this only works with a group of willing and well organised volunteers.
Firstly Mary, who produced and served the rice, and helped with the setting up and decorating of the tables. Mary refused money for the rice, thank you Mary.
Then Karen who helped with the prep in the kitchen, and along with Tony, managed the delivery of food to the tables. Also Yoneko, who got everybody sat down and brought the orders to the kitchen, helping us to get the food out at a good pace.
We had a great team of washer-uppers too, all those above with good support from Chris Wright on the dishwasher, Mick and Jan wielding their trusty tea cloths and putting the pots away, and Andy on all the dirty work scrubbing the pots and pans. He tells me if he never sees curry sauce again it will be too soon....Lots of others too who I can’t recall, but it was busy in there so I cleared out quickly...
Thanks to Colin for ably manning the bar as ever, he tells me it was a good night on the till.
And finally, how could I forget my glamorous assistant Jean, who has been helping, and putting up with my tantrums, for a week during the preparation, chopped more onions than you can shake a stick at, and helping enormously with all the prep and service on the day. Think she wants our kitchen cleaning next......any volunteers?
Thank you Jean.
And thank you all for coming, hope you enjoyed it. We made around £160 for club funds on the night, so well done to everyone.
