Starting the week right with an early morning leg session. Give it a try and let me know if you do 💪🏻
~ 1A / 1B Hip abductions / adductions (used to warm up)
~ 2 Barbell Low Bar Squats
~ 3 Barbell Romanian Deadlifts
~ 4 Sled Leg Presses
~ 5 Leg Extensions
~ 6A Single-leg Lying Leg Curl Left
~ 6B Single-leg Lying Leg Curl Right
~ 7 Single-leg Weighted Standing Calf Raises
Pull Session from this afternoon in the SSS (Serls Strength Shed)
Deadlifts have been a huge focus for me this year and by following designing a 5-3-1 program suited to myself + adding a volume or grip based session in during the week has helped massively and led to me hitting a 200kg Deadlift at the start of July at 68kg bodyweight.
Give the session a go depending on your numbers (the deadlift weight is 62.5% of my 1RM)
Enjoy the rest of your day team - Cal 💪🏻
Double Bodyweight Deadlifts moving nicely at the weekend in the Strength Shed
I worked with more high volume reps on Saturday, originally planning to go for a max weight of 100kg for sets of 10.
However, with my gym partner in crime getting on a bar for the first time in a while I allowed myself to have some fun with it and increase for a set of 10 at 120 followed by this set of 140kg x 10 reps, which is coincidentally the quickest I have pulled this weight for 10 reps before (47-seconds from initial lift off to final lockout).
Tom managed to incredibly hit a new 1RM of 175kg, bang on 2.5 x Bodyweight which was amazing to see!
Awesome kit from has kept me going from home for the past year, both physically but most importantly from a mental health aspect

Card Fitness Game Sessions have been the trend this week for most of my virtual clients
Here is one of the sessions from this week which is dependent on what kit (if any!) the client in question has. I find this method can be fun for client as they’re getting a high intensity 45-minutes work done + it’s entertaining for me to watch when a client gets 63 lying leg raises on the bounce like Rob did on Friday morning 🤣
Below are the rules if you wish to give it a go:
- Grab yourself 2 sets of cards and remove all cards between 2 and 7, leaving 8’s to Aces
- You will have 56 cards with doubles of each card (58 if you include 2 Jokers for Burpees 🤡)
- Assign an exercise to each suit
- Each value relates to the number of reps you need to do. 8-10 are self explanatory, and I tend to go with the Jacks at 11, Queens at 12, Kings at 13 or 15 and then Aces at 15 or 20
- Whichever card is drawn, you complete that exercise for the number of reps necessary
- If the same card is drawn back-back, double up the reps on that second card (e.g. A♣️ = 15/20, followed with another A♣️ = 30/40 and so on)
