Great rowing at the Thames Valley Sunday League from our Maidenhead rowers. Winning 2 out of their 4 racers finishing 4th overall.
Next Sunday is the annual Boat Race between Oxford and Cambridge raced on the Tideway from Putney to Chiswick since 1856 (first raced in 1829) for the men and 2015 (held annually at Henley since1964 but first raced in 1927) for the Women.
Members join us to enjoy one of the oldest rowing events in the World together at Maidenhead Rowing Club next Sunday.
Bar opens at 1pm

Great rowing at Vets Head today by our Vet Men.
Always a great event we had 26rowers/coxes and 4 wellie/blade carriers/cheers.
Good turn out for our Master Women and Vet Men at Kingston Head 5.2km down stream time trial.
Masters quad 2nd out of 4,but 11th quickest time of the morning division (97 crews)
Masters 8+ 4th out of 9,
W.Masters quad 2nd out of 8.

Val Coleman, 93 years old is a rower at and is the World Champion and holder of four world records!
Kate Lindgren, member of has found a new sense of freedom and independence as a blind rower. She will be completing a 12 hour Rowathon in May.
Julia Rzadkowska, started rowing at 11 years old, over the past 6 years has put a lot of time and effort into the sport. She says “As a rower in The GORSE Boat Club I love working hard and try as much as I can to push myself to the limit and get the best results I can, especially in races”.
Judith Packer, “My proudest moment in rowing was most definitely umpiring the 75th Women’s Boat Race at Ely, almost a year ago now”.

We had a good showing from our Senior Women and a mixed master’s boat in November at Henley Long Distance Sculls. Great rowing. Keep up the training.
Summer pots are won in the Winter! And our strength and cardio suites are all kitted out for members.
Great to see how our new function room/bar can be transformed for our Annual Junior Dinner 2021, for a delicious 3-course meal. Seating 73 Juniors, coaches, club captain, president, and our special guest GB lightweight double sculls rower Emily Craig.
Steph was a junior at MRC until last year, she helped coaching during the Sunmer Camps and is now fundraising in memory of her Mum for Thames Hospices. She is going to climb the Welsh three peaks on the 9th of April.
