Maidenhead Karate Club

There will be no training in Maidenhead on Tuesday 8th August due to staff shortages at Altwood School.

Woodley and Burnham classes are running as usual.

From Tuesday 25th July 2023 to Tuesday 29th August 2023 there will be one class for all students from 7pm to 8.30pm.
We will return to two class on Tuesday 5th September 2023.

Altwood School have let us down again and cancelled our classes.
There will be no training in Maidenhead on the 4th or 11th of April.

Tonight's class will be held in the drama studio (next to gym).

Room Change for Maidenhead Club on 21/02/23

The gym is unavailable for tonight’s class so we will be training in the main school in classroom C105.
Use the door opposite the gym entrance and you will find the classroom on the left. See the plan below for more details.

Please note the following club closures over the Christmas/New Year break.
Maidenhead Club closed Tuesday 20st and 27th December 2022.
Burnham Club closed Wednesday 21th and 28th December 2022.

Altwood School is closed today due the hot weather and they have cancelled our class this evening. There is no class next Tuesday (26th July) so the next lesson will be on 2nd August at 7pm.
Sorry for the lack of consistency in recent weeks. Altwood School assure me they are doing there best to get things back to normal. Woodley and Burnham clubs are running and you are welcome to attend those to make up classes.

From Tuesday July 19th to Tuesday August 30th inclusive the beginners and advanced classes will be combined in to one lesson for all levels from 7.00 to 8.30pm.

Lessons will return to normal on Tuesday September 6th.

Unfortunately Altwood School have cancelled our class again tomorrow (5th July). Sorry for the short notice. Hopefully we'll be back next week.

Please note that tomorrow's grading in Wokingham starts at 10.00 am, NOT 9.00am as stated on the grading form.

Tonight's classes (8th March) are being held in the school hall at the same end of the school as the main car park.

Altwood School have informed me that from 15th February 2022 the car park by the gym will be closed until August.

Please park in the main car park at the other end of the school and walk through the gate to the left of reception at the front of the school. See the image below for more detail.

Just a reminder that tonight's classes (16th Nov) are being held in the drama studio next to the gym. Next week's classes will be held in the main hall at the opposite end of the school to the gym.

From Tuesday July 27th to Tuesday August 31th 2021 inclusive there will be one lesson for all grades from 7.00 to 8.30pm.

We will return to two classes on 7th August 2021.

Maidenhead Karate Club updated their address.

Unfortunately tonight will be our last group class until restrictions are lifted. From 10th November we will run online classes from 7 to 8pm on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings. The Tuesday and Thursday classes will be suitable for all abilities. The Wednesday class will be aim at brown belt and above.

To participate in the classes, you will need a computer, laptop or tablet with a we**am and the zoom app installed. A mobile phone can also be used but is not ideal due to the small screen size. If you can stream or connect your device to a television it will be easier to see demonstrations.

You will need enough space to safely carry out a single stepping technique and you should position your we**am/device to get as much as possible of the area you are using in view.
When you sign up for a class you will receive an email with a link to the class. Simply click the link a few minutes before the class start time and you be connected to the class via the Zoom app. On initial connection you will be placed in a waiting room and connected to the class when I see you are waiting. The email will also contain a meeting ID and password that can be entered directly into the Zoom app. You can download the Zoom app from: https://zoom.us/download.

I've been informed by Altwood School that parking is limited near the gym. Please use the main car park at the other end of the school.

I'm pleased to announce that the Maidenhead Dojo will reopen on Tuesday 8th September.

We will be running 2 lessons as follows:
6.00 pm to 7.00 pm for all levels
7.15pm to 8.45 pm for brown belts and above

There will be a maximum of 20 students allowed in each class. Booking and payment must be made online at https://tvsk.co.uk/store/ If you attend without booking and the class is fully booked you will be turned away.

Social distancing will be in place for these classes.

Please wash your hands before and after the class and maintain a minimum of 2 metres from other students unless you are part of the same family.

If possible arrive at the hall already changed and ready to start the class.

Unfortunately sparring will not be permitted and you should refrain from kiai-ing.

I have just been informed by Altwood School that they are cancelling all lettings until 24th April at the earliest when they will review the situation.

Unfortunately I will have to close the club until further notice.

In the meantime I hope you all stay safe and well.

As our groups are relatively small our classes will continue until we are told not too run them.
We will however stop close quarters activities such as sparring and kata application and space out as much possible.
In addition to following current guidelines regarding hygiene we would also ask you to wash your hands immediately before and after class.
