We're often our own harshest critic.

How would it feel to start talking to yourself as someone you love?

If you're going through a breakup and struggling to let go of the past and move on I have a free checkllist to help you.

These are some of the tools and techniques I wish I'd known about when I was going through my divorce.

They're all really simple to do but if you keep practicing them over time you'll soon start to notice a difference in how you feel.

There's so much you can do to help yourself once you know how so download the checklist today using the link in my bio.

What are you putting off because you're too scared to get out of your comfort zone?

It's a normal reaction - the brain's job is to keep us safe so it likes us to stick to what we know.

But there is so much opportunity on the other side of your comfort zone if you can overcome the fear and take that first step.

It can be overwhelming and stressful when you're going through a breakup at the thought of everything you have to do - by yourself now - without the support of your partner who's been by your side up until now.

Maybe you have to find somewhere new to live, get a mortgage on your own, run the household on your own, look after the kids 24x7, deal with the washing machine breaking down, get the kids to school on time - the list is endless.

When my ex moved out we were renovating our house and we'd literally gutted it - It was nowhere near finished.

The walls were bare brick and needed plastering, there was no flooring in most rooms and I had to dust myself down before I went to work.

It was like I was living on a building site and when I had deliveries they used to ask me when I was moving in 😂

To say I was out of my comfort zone is an understatement!

I had to organise all the tradesmen and try and understand what needed doing, in what order and gauge whether I was being ripped off.

But I did it and as a result created a home I love.

You are so much stronger and more capable than you think.

If things seem overwhelming or daunting then break them down into small manageable chunks which don't feel too scary and tackle one at a time.

Once you start moving outside your comfort zone you'll find your confidence starts to increase again and you'll start to tackle bigger things.

The next chapter of your life is at the end of your comfort zone and it's time to start moving on.

If you're going through a breakup and feeling alone and overwhelmed then come and join my Facebook group - The Breakup and Divorce Lounge (link in bio)

Our brain is designed to keep us safe and is a creature of habit. It refers to neural pathways that have been created whenever it needs to make a decision.

These pathways become patterns in our thoughts and behaviours and it can be difficult to break these.

The comfort zone is a psychological state in which we feel safe and it fulfills our need for certainty.

When we’re in our comfort zone, we know what to expect and we know how to react.

We feel that we have some control over the situation. All of our immediate needs are fulfilled and we feel at peace.

When we step outside our comfort zone, we’re no longer in a familiar and controllable situation. The brain hasn’t created the pathways it needs in order to know how to react – and we may feel anxiety and fear.

Yet learning to leave your comfort zone is essential, especially after a breakup when your life is going through a huge amount of change with all the stress and anxiety that comes with it.

Read the post for 5 Reasons to get out of your comfort zone after your divorce.

If you're struggling to get out of your comfort zone and move on after your breakup then send me a DM and I'll be in touch. I can help you to get the clarity on what you want and the steps you need to take to create the life you want whilst being your biggest cheerleader.

When was the last time you got out of your comfort zone?

I recently joined a new gym that does circuits and HIIT classes.

And I'm so far out of my comfort zone it's unreal!

I've had so many knee operations over the last 15 years that I haven't been able to exercise at the same level that I used to - so this is a massive shock to the system 😂

It took me 5 months to even join this gym after finding out about it.

Telling myself stories that I wouldn't be able to do it because of my knees.

And yes some of it is difficult because of my knees but there are modifications that I can do - so I manage.

Yes it's tough - it nearly kills me 🥵and my body hurts after it.

But I feel so much better for it - I have more energy, my mood's better and I know I'm starting to get fitter again.

All those benefits and more from pushing myself outside my comfort zone.

Moving on after a breakup is really tough and you need to move outside your comfort zone to be able to move on with your life.

I know the thought of moving on can cause anxiety and stress because of the fear of the unknown.

The future you thought you had ahead of you has been taken away from you together with all your hopes and dreams.

But start by breaking things down into small steps so it feels more manageable and make sure you celebrate all your wins and achievements.

Imagine what could be waiting for you if you pushed yourself outside your comfort zone.

There's a whole new chapter out there waiting for you which is going to be amazing so grab it with both hands and start living the life that you deserve.

If you're feeling anxious and stressed about your future after your breakup then DM me the word CLARITY and I'll be in touch. I can help you to gain clarity on the future you want to live as well as the steps you need to take to get there whilst being your biggest cheerleader along the way.

Practicing gratitude is one of the proven tools in Positive Psychology that can be used to improve your wellbeing.

It's been proven to significantly improve your mental health if you're suffering from depression.

I know that feeling grateful for what you have after you've been through a breakup can be a big ask when you feel like your whole future has been taken away from you.

But just start with the small things - start the day with thinking of 3 things you're grateful for and really try and connect with that feeling.

It could be that you're grateful for the sun shining, your children, your morning coffee, or it could be that you're grateful for the support you have from your friends and family.

Whatever it is spend a few minutes reflecting on it.

Try this as part of your morning routine for 15 days and you should start to notice a difference in how you feel.

Give me a ❤️ in the comments if you already practice gratitude
