Another brilliant weekend of volleyball with MVC running out very close runners up to Oxford. One of the best games I have played in and lost. Super competitive and played in a wonderful sporting and friendly atmosphere.
With the pressure of Saturday’s performances to live up to, Maidenhead’s Mixed team continued the win streak. Unbeaten throughout the day they added another trophy to the collection 🏅🏆🎉
Ladies, Mens and Mixed champions, BVA Plate 2023, completed 😉

Lovely to be able to host the end of season BVA tournament at Braywick Leisure Centre. With both Mens and Ladies teams in action, a fun and enjoyable day was had by all.
Did we mention…. the Mens team taking home the silverware with day of really strong performances 🏆
Good luck to our two mixed teams playing tomorrow.
Great Maidenhead representation at the Ashcombe indoor doubles yesterday. Cup winners James Hodgson and David Morgan, and Plate runners up Ivan and Yordan!

Lovey day of volleyball today with both Ladies teams in action. As well as our first ever home game at our home venue Braywick Leisure Centre!
Thank you to all the referees, line judges, scorers, supporters and child carers for giving up your time to support the club 🏐🥰
One win and one loss for Maidenhead Men today. While another loss to Spikeopaths was tough, taking it to 15-13 in the third set showed the improvement the team are making. Well done Ivan for his double MVP.
A tough day for our Ladies teams today as neither Braywick or Magnet teams managed to pick up a win. Onwards and upwards from here as both teams form together 💪🏼
Maidenhead Mens Braywick opened the season with two wins against Oxford Uni (2:0) and Oxford Vollox (2:0); with rookies Ivan and Yordan settling into the team well 🏆🏆
574 days after Maidenhead last took to the court both Mixed teams were finally back in action again!!
🏐 Maidenhead Magnets: unlucky not to pick up a win on the day with tight losses against Maidenhead Braywick (1:2) and Spikeos 1 (0:2)
🏐 Maidenhead Braywick: with comebacks in both games picking up two lucky wins against Maidenhead Magnet (2:1) and Spikeos 1 (2:0)
Next week brings the return of both our Mens and Ladies teams 🛣🏆
Another awesome MVC trip to the ‘beach’. This time to Richmond on Thames with David, Gemma & Ashley.

A great couple of victories today help Maidenhead Ladies Volleyball to get back on track to push for a promotion place from the Berkshire Volleyball League Second Division.
The Maidenhead Ladies team are currently sitting 3rd in the table and on paper their first match of the day against Spikeopaths 2, should have been a good warm up for the second match against Reading University who are sitting in Second place in the league. However, with a sluggish start to the match Maidenhead lost the first set to the Spikeopaths team who were perhaps warmer on this cold morning having already played one match. The second set saw a much changed Maidenhead team both in attitude and effort which resulted in a convincing win. The momentum was carried on into the deciding set and Maidenhead ran out as comfortable victors.
The first set of the second match against Reading saw some of the best volleyball played by Maidenhead this season stunning the young Reading team and winning the set by several points. In the second set the Reading team upped their game and although Maidenhead rallied towards the end Reading managed to level the match one set all. This was a set was full of high calibre volleyball with lots of long and exciting rallies.
Maidenhead then had to regroup to take an early initiative in the final set which was achieved with some very strong serving which disheartened the Reading who never really recovered.
Coach Alan Sowden said: “this was a really strong performance by all seven of the squad which is extremely positive for the rest of the season. The team maintained their formation with a great standard of passing, setting and hitting.”
