Important announcement:

It is with a heavy heart that we must announce the closure of the Adult Contact Programme at South East Squadron. The decision was taken after much deliberation amongst the committee around our current situation in relation to the associate criteria we had to meet to return to league fixtures next season.

Despite a Herculean effort from the committee, coaches, and players alike, the obstacles we had to overcome to bring football back to Maidstone have proven insurmountable. We were unable to meet the threshold required for player numbers and, as difficult as this has been, the committee and I feel the players and coaches who have put in so much hard work and dedication to growing and improving deserve the chance to be rewarded with competitive fixtures. It is an unfortunate reality that this was not going to be the case for them under the Squadron banner for the foreseeable future, but as stated this is not for lack of effort or commitment on anyone's part. The task given to us at this point in the teams history just proved too great.

I'd like to thank the Kent Phoenix AFC for their support and helping re-establish football in Maidstone, they have our full support in all their activities going forward just as they have supported us. Finally I want to extend huge thanks to all the members of the South East Squadron American Football Club for the time and effort they have put in to the team over the years and I wish everyone every success in their football careers, wherever that may take them.

We want to say a massive thank you to the Bournemouth Bobcats for hosting us for a fantastic scrimmage on Sunday. It was a great day for both teams to get some game practise for our new recruits.

We want to just say how massively proud we were of the performance that our team put in. It really showed the hard work is paying off.

Thanks again to the Bobcats and best of luck in the league and hope to link up with you guys again in the future 👍🏈
