This is worth a read š
The BBC have shared an article on strength training and long-term health ā and the headline is a big one:
Around 90ā120 minutes of strength training per week could be the sweet spot for helping reduce the risk of early death.
Now, before anyone panics and thinks that means living in the gym, it really doesnāt.
Thatās basically 2ā3 sensible strength sessions a week.
And strength training doesnāt just mean lifting massive weights, grunting in front of a mirror and drinking protein shakes out of a bucket.
It can be:
ā
Squats
ā
Press-ups
ā
Resistance bands
ā
Kettlebells
ā
Dumbbells
ā
Core work
ā
Getting stronger at movements you use in real life
This is the bit I keep banging on about:
Strength training isnāt just about looking better.
Itās about ageing better.
Itās about keeping your independence. Itās about having stronger bones, better balance, better movement, more confidence, and being able to keep doing the things you enjoy.
Playing with the grandkids, carrying the shopping, getting up off the floor, walking up hills without feeling broken.
Feeling like your body still works with you, not against you.
Yes, fat loss matters for a lot of people.
But building strength?
Thatās the stuff that pays you back for decades.
The good news is you donāt need to be fit to start.
You just need to start at the right level, with the right plan, and build from there.
Have a read of the article, and if this gives you the nudge you needed, drop me a message.

You donāt need more motivation.
You need something that actually works.
Most people I work with arenāt āgym peopleā.
Theyāre busy.
Knackered.
Trying to juggle work, kids, lifeā¦
And fitness?
Itās the thing that keeps getting pushed to ānext weekā.
Sound familiar?
The problem isnāt effort.
Itās not laziness.
Itās that youāve never had:
āļø A plan that fits YOUR life
āļø Sessions you can actually stick to
āļø Someone keeping you accountable
So you start⦠stop⦠start againā¦
and wonder why nothing sticks.
Thatās exactly what I fix.
If youāre fed up with going round in circlesā¦
Comment āSTARTā or drop me a message.
Weāll keep it simple and make it work.

āIāM BACK (BUT WITH INTENT)ā
This isnāt an announcement.
Itās a reset with presence.
Iāve been a bit quiet on here latelyā¦
Not because Iāve disappeared.
Quite the opposite, actually.
Iāve been busy behind the scenes.
Coaching. Helping people get stronger.
Watching confidence come back.
And if Iām honestā¦
Itās reminded me why I do this in the first place.
Since the start of the year, Iāve taken on a handful of new clients.
Normal people. Busy lives. Same struggles most of us have.
And theyāre making it work.
Not because theyāve suddenly found motivationā¦
But because theyāve got structure, support, and someone keeping them accountable.
Thatās the difference.
So⦠time to step things back up on here as well.
If youāve been watching from the sidelines for a whileā¦
Maybe this is your nudge.
Drop me a message or comment āREADYā and Iāll reach out for a chat.

Small group⦠BIG energy.
This is exactly why I love what I do.
No mirrors. No egos. Just good people working hard and having a laugh doing it.
And hereās the thingā¦
This is what Total Body Thursday is all about.
Not just workoutsā¦
š Itās team vibes
š Itās accountability
š Itās actually enjoying training again

:
Happy Easter everyone š£
I donāt say this enough⦠but Iām genuinely grateful for every single one of you.
The ones who show up week in, week out ā even when you donāt feel like it.
The ones whoāve trusted me to help you change your life.
The ones whoāve supported the business, liked a post, sent a message, or recommended me to a friend.
It might seem small⦠but to me, itās everything.
Because this isnāt just a job.
Itās people.
Itās stories.
Itās helping someone feel better about themselves again⦠sometimes for the first time in years.
And thatās not something Iāll ever take for granted.
I know lifeās busy. I know itās not always easy to prioritise yourself.
But the fact you still make the effort, still show up, still trust me to be part of that journeyā¦
That means more than I can properly put into words.
So this Easter, take a minute.
Be proud of what youāve done so far.
Enjoy time with your family.
Eat the chocolate (yes⦠all of it š
).
And remember ā youāre doing better than you think.
Appreciate you all⦠more than you know.
Because one day youāll look back and realise⦠this was the moment you stopped putting yourself last.

I remember the moment.
It wasnāt loud.
No big wake-up call.
No dramatic turning point.
Just me⦠stood there⦠22 stoneā¦
slightly out of breath, doing nothing special.
And a thought came in that I couldnāt shake.
āIf you carry on like this⦠youāre going to miss your own life.ā
Not all at once.
Just⦠bit by bit.
Sitting more.
Doing less.
Watching instead of joining in.
And then my mind went somewhere I didnāt expect.
The future.
The kids we used to talk about having.
I could see it.
Clear as anything.
Them running around.
Laughing.
Full of energy.
And looking at meā¦
waiting for me to join in.
And meā¦
Hesitating.
Making excuses.
Saying,
āYou go on⦠Iāll watch from here.ā
Not because I didnāt want to be there.
Because I couldnāt be.
Thatās the bit that got me.
Thatās the bit that still sits with me now.
The idea that I might not show up properly
for people I hadnāt even met yet.
That I might miss moments
Iād never get back.
You donāt get those twice.
And that scared me more than anything.
So I did something about it.
Not perfectly.
Not overnight.
Not with some grand plan.
Just⦠a decision.
To stop waiting.
I found someone who helped me.
Someone who didnāt make me feel stupid.
Didnāt shout.
Didnāt try to prove a point.
He made me feel like I belonged.
Like I wasnāt too far gone.
Like I could actually do something about it.
And that feelingā¦
that someone believes in you
when youāre not quite there yetā¦
that stays with you.
Iāve got two kids now.
And everything I do ā
as a dad⦠and as a coach ā
comes from that moment.
That quiet realisation that things had to change.
Because I know what it feels like
to stand right at the startā¦
telling yourself
ānext weekā
over and over again.
I know how heavy that feels.
And I care about that moment
more than anything that comes after it.
Because thatās the moment that changes everything.
You donāt need to be fit enough to start.
You just need to be ready.
Because one day, someone will be waiting for you to join inā¦
And you donāt get to press pause on that moment.
23/03/2026
The biggest fear I have as a coach isnāt that someone wonāt work hard.
Itās that someone gets seriously hurt.
Iāve seen it happen in big gyms.
And it sticks with you.
Thatās why Iāll stop you mid-rep.
Thatās why Iāll adjust your position.
Thatās why I wonāt let you ājust push through it.ā
Not because Iām strict.
Because I care.
Most people I work with arenāt athletes chasing records.
Theyāre mums.
Dads.
People whoāve put themselves last for years.
The last thing they need is an injury setting them back even further.
So yes ā Iāll push you.
But Iāll always protect you first.
I donāt want quick fixes.
I donāt want one āsmash itā session followed by a week of soreness.
I want you consistently consistent.
Turning up.
Moving well.
Getting stronger.
Feeling better.
Thatās where real progress lives.
Quietly.
Safely.
Over time.
Strong doesnāt mean reckless.
It means looked after.
18/03/2026
Iāve heard a few times that I can look a bit intimidating.
I understand why.
Iām not exactly small.
But strength doesnāt always look how people expect.
This is real life.
Drum lessons in the lounge.
Lego on the floor.
A pink unicorn that absolutely isnāt mine.
The same bloke who coaches in the studioā¦
sits here getting nails painted and being told off for bad dad jokes.
I take training seriously.
I take peopleās safety seriously.
But I donāt take myself too seriously.
The people I work with arenāt athletes trying to break records.
Theyāre parents.
Professionals.
People whoāve put themselves last for years.
If youāre worried Iād be ātoo toughā for youā¦
I promise you this:
I care far more about how safe you feel than how hard you sweat.
Strength should feel supportive.
Not scary.
